Dude! Awesome work with the parallax of the ground structure; getting that complex 3D texture couldn't've been easy :O
Also love the subtle details of the outside (left) and outside bricks (right). Really well done effect :)

Thank you very much! I haven't done many of these at all, so it took much longer than I expected lol

Woah... that is awesome!
I'm loving your use of colour here; especially with the green reflections. That missing roof panel is the icing on the cake, though; really makes it feel like the upper roof structure has rotted away!
It's a pity there such stiff competition this week, 'cause this work is more than worthy of a win :/

Damn, man! I missed a lot of the details at first glance, but holy shit that's dense :O Those half-buried stormtroopers make it really dark.
And that TIE fighter in the background... I love how you managed to make it physically fit the space; to say nothing about matching the perspective / lighting! The light panels / pillars were a nice touch, too :)
What was your inspiration for the icicles?

Damn dude. I had the same idea but about 200% less professional.
2
u/graphleek May 25 '16
Thanks. I came up with that idea at the last minute. I had been working on another one that ended up sucking when I thought of this. It took about 10 layers to get a blend that looked natural to me. Not as easy as I thought it was going to be (as usual).

My first idea also turned out to be above my skill level so I came up with the tank and then added an animation because it seemed a bit lackluster. Anyway, upvoted!

Thanks for the vote! I made this for you to show how I made this. There's easier ways, I'm sure, but this is the way this one was done. Maybe it will give you some ideas. Skill level is temporary.
EDIT: As I was making that, I started wondering why I went through the trouble of making that transparency. It's because originally I started off with the fish lower, overlapping the building more. Later I decided to move the fish up to improve the composition, so it was created something like this.

I like this one. I really like the idea of the before/after effect.

u/kimlandsiedel May 25 '16
Thank you Mr. BoomerKeith... I like the real then/now pics of historical places & times. It's very cool... For Example

u/BoomerKeith May 25 '16
I like those kinds of pictures too! I think that's why I like your entry so much.

The past/present photography is kindof creepy and sad, but I think that's what makes it cool too...

I'm not trying to be a dick because you can submit what you want, but if you're actually trying to win a weekly battle, you're going to have to put in a little more effort.
