The Rules
Submit your entry as a comment to this thread.
You can post as many as you want.
To vote for an entry, just upvote the users comment.
You can vote for as many different entries as you want, but please do not downvote. Downvotes will not be counted when deciding winners.
Every entrant gets a contributor flair.
These will be handed out by a bot, but due to our comment hiding system, sometimes it misses people. If you entered but didn't get one, just send the mods a message, and we'll fix you up.
Please be sure to tag NSFW entries appropriately.
If you see anything inappropriate that's not tagged, either report the comment or send a message to the moderators.
The Schedule
All entries will be hidden for the first 48 hours.
Voting will open on Tuesday, after which all entries will be visible.
Contest mode will be enabled for another 24 hours. This will sort comments randomly, obscure vote counts, and automatically minimize child comments.
Contest mode will be disabled on Wednesday.
From there on out, each comment's vote total will be visible, and entries can be sorted by karma (just like any other reddit thread).
The Battle will end on Saturday, July 23rd.
Next week's battle will be posted early Sunday morning.
Best of luck, everyone, and have fun!!

After Effects? Turned out great!

u/graphleek Jul 20 '16
Thanks! I wish I had After Effects. Just four frames tweened in Photoshop.

I don't have it either, but I am really considering adding it to my CC subscription (I wish they had a cheaper option to add just one program). Anyway, turned out great! My favorite.

Wait, I think they do have a pick your own app subscription, no? $19.99 per single app.

I should have been more specific. I have the basic subscription (that includes PS and LR), but there's no way to add just one additional app without moving up to the "All Apps" plan. So, instead of paying $30 for PS, LR and say Illustrator, I'd have to pay $50 just to add one additional app that I really wanted. Of course you would gain access to their entire suite of apps, but I really wouldn't use most of them.

I am fairly new with photoshop, and this is my first "Photoshop Battle Entry". Please give your opinion on how I did! Thanks!

Good start. Like anything else, the more you do in PS the better you'll get. There are some really great tutorials on YouTube. My favorite is by a guy named Nathaniel (the channel is Tutvid). But, there are tons of tutorials. Welcome to PSBattles!

This is a great place to work on your skills. There's also a site called Design Crown (www.designcrowd.com/community) where they have contests (advanced and beginner). I like this place better, but if you're looking for another place to challenge your skills, it's fun too.

Ha! I thought about this image, but couldn't imagine what search terms to use to find it.

It took me so long! For some reason I thought it was a Kraftwerk album or single cover which it isn't. And I spent ages searching for things similar to "shocked boy with weird goggles". Eventually searching 50s Sci Fi found it. Though I still couldn't find an original source when I did a reverse image search, just lots of examples of it being used in blogs and social media.
