Contest mode will be enabled for another 24 hours. This will sort comments randomly, obscure vote counts, and automatically minimize child comments.

From there on out, each comment's vote total will be visible, and entries can be sorted by karma (just like any other reddit thread).
The Battle will end on Saturday, August 11th.

Great work as always Working. Looks like you had a lot of fun with this. Cool effect, it turned out awesome.

Cheers mate, yeah was fun to work on. The stock image is kinda like a blank canvas that gives you a bit freedom to mess around, no solid subject image to be adhered to :)

Woah, good idea and great execution! I love the composition, especially; all the flying rubble really adds drama. Beautiful use of colour, too; that duo-tone red and off-grey palate makes the whole thing look so damn refined!

Glad you decided to take part, your work never disappoints.
EDIT: Just noticed you were spared. I'll try not to let that sour my opinion of you.

Excellent! I've always got a soft spot for fallout but the ps work is outstanding!

This is really thinking outside the box and perfectly executed too! Seriously great work!

Was experimenting with some techniques and in the end it looked like worth sharing... well, it often goes like this :)

I love how you extended the left side of the scene - recreating the steps - just to get the perfect framing.
The best part, though, is the silk? (slime?); it all hangs so realistically. When something looks natural, like that, it's easy for viewers to take it for granted - but getting to that point must have taken a fair bit of time / skill. Really nice work, man.

Great feel to the picture! Be carefeul with your body warps though, brings the legs out of proportion on jackman. Overall good job!

I love it when people take the time to get the lighting right; it really makes takes the final product up a notice. Love the subtle graffiti, too; would've missed it if I didn't peep at your sources!

After seeing all these great works this week, i realised the idea i was thinking to post was a bit meh... ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Edit: nvm, got another one...

Awesome work.
My only note, is I'd like to see a bit of blur on the cube, to make it seem like it's moving fast.

Thanks! Good feedback. :) With all of the lighting, it was really hard to tweak things in the end, but that would have been a good add.

Perfect, but please add a vignette-kind of effect on the insides of the frame (except the bottom of course).

The Vines are a nice touch!

Thanks! I liked how it slightly aged the scene.

I regret not doing something similar to mine. Maybe add some trash or such
2
u/edgeukated Aug 08 '18
I've become a bit rusty at photoshop since I primarily use illustrator so my brother turned me on to psbattles. Nice way to brush off the cobwebs.

u/AGmikkelsen Aug 08 '18
Indeed, and also just have fun with it, instead of making something serious

Anyone have tips on how to crop out the white background on the hair?
5
u/ezryph Aug 10 '18
hair is always tricky to get natural looking. I usually try to salvage as much as I can and then cheat it a bit and paint in some hair with the brush tool using a brush preset.

Select color - then click on one of the white pixels - then delete the white area Helpfull?
