Thanks mate, I actually don't officially use PS, though I steal a lot of ideas from PS tutorials and find workarounds to achieve similar effects ;)

what software do you tend to use man?

I do it on my phone/tablet so there is no all in one really suitable, so I have to use several apps together. My staple apps though are superimpose X (masking/layering), Photoshop fix (clone stamp, spot healing), Pixlr (burn/dodge brush, sharpening, blurring, and pretty much any other adjustments). Photoshop capture (making custom brushes + great for edge detection), Photoshop sketch (applying custom/other brush work), Photoshop express (skewing) and facebender (setup exactly like PS CC liquify mode).....

It's really just annoying more than anything else having to jump between programs all the time, have to plan things out in advance more, because changes to individual layers can be difficult. One day I will get a new PC, and I'm told by a reliable source that Affinity is a great alternative to PS that doesn't charge a monthly subscription
