The Dark Knight Rises-spoiler that is. Great job on the 'shop!

The Dark Knight isnt the only thing rising when I look at these pictures.

Unless you call it the Dark Knight.

25

u/Darrida Mar 09 '13

Thanks

I thought he becomes ... the other one.

30

u/ARandomNobody Mar 09 '13

Well given that they reveal his full name is "Robin John Blake" at the end, chances are pretty high that he becomes Robin.

61

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '13

Or that he skips Robin and goes straight to Nightwing. He honestly even looks like him!

19

u/ARandomNobody Mar 09 '13

Doesn't the first Robin become Nightwing in the comics? No reason they can't do both.

19

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '13

But Blake is much too old to be Robin.

1

u/riversofgore Mar 10 '13

Christian Bale is much too young to do The Dark Knight Returns but they did it anyway.

The Dark Knight Returns and The Dark Knight Rises are two entirely different things. The only thing that's the same is the city wide chaos and the nuke.

1

u/riversofgore Mar 10 '13

You must not have read the comic if you think that. There are many many more similarities than the ones you mentioned.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '13

I saw the animated movies. Overall I think it's a much different story.

Yes, but his name is Dick Grayson - not John Blake. :/

11

u/TheProdigyX Mar 09 '13

I was thinking Batman: Beyond

3

u/Hobbes4247791 Mar 09 '13

He doesn't even have a mullet, siily.

36

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '13

Not a single Robin had a name Robin, so I think that's just a name reference, not the role itself. It would make no sense to become a Robin when there's no Batman. He could just be a Batman.

22

u/Blunkus Mar 09 '13

thank you. he becomes batman. even nolan said he would never have robin in any of his movies. it was simply a wink and nod at fans.

2

u/bobthecookie Mar 09 '13

Or Nightwing... I want to believe

1

u/ninjahippo93 Mar 10 '13

I was thinking that he WAS robin in everything but name throughout all of TDKR, and now in the next one since we saw Bruce and Selina in Florence, Bruce had retired and that Robin was going to take up the mantle

1

u/EggbroHam Mar 11 '13

there is no robin without batman.

1

u/ninjahippo93 Mar 13 '13

but, there is batman without robin

2

u/EggbroHam Mar 13 '13

Exaactly. I wasnt schooling you on it just throwin in my 2 cents for those who still think hes robin. I thought he was gonna be robin during the movie too. But by the end it appears he has bigger shoes (or plastic pectorals hardy har) to fill. Hes gotta beef up to be the bat man.

11

u/The_holy Mar 09 '13

He wouldn't become another batman or robin, he would just become batman. That is the point. Batman is a symbol. Not just bruce wayne.

6

u/paulx441 Mar 10 '13

Yeah. Also he rises at the end and it cuts to the title. he's batman. end of discussion. please go back to discussing totems or presitges.

Which one had the Digimon?

30

u/kettesi Mar 09 '13

Digimon was independent. Didn't Bryan Lee O'malley write that?

You may have noticed in the last week that you have a red "feat" flair. Well, I completely forgot to let you know when it happened; but you got it because your image was featured in this BuzzFeed article. Congrats!

1

u/Darrida Mar 17 '13

Yeah. I did notice :). I asked theskabus about that. It's pretty cool to be featured online somewhere.

I enjoyed that thread.
