I thought everyone knew 'Where's Waldo' first appeared in paintings by Bonticelli 500 years ago? It was a game played by the wealthy and powerful citizens around Europe, but eventually outlawed and punishable by death after a peasant, dressed as Waldo kidnapped Charles V's (King of Italy) beloved underage mistress and ran off with her. The game then turned to "Where's Willemina?" - a joke that did not amuse the monarchy.
