I just let it crop out the edges of the image. If I see something I like and its resolution is larger than the screen, I grab it for my desktops.

Ok that picture of Clarkson in Barbados was weird (and blinding).

Basically I first mask the pictures to the shape I want it in. Then I use Hue & Saturation to match the color tone of the image. And I use soft edge brushes on the masking so the edges blend in more. But the thing that tok the most time of this image was to photoshop Venus out of the picture.
