The Rules
Submit your entry as a comment to this thread.
You can post as many as you want.
To vote for an entry, just upvote the users comment.
You can vote for as many different entries as you want, but please do not downvote. Downvotes will not be counted when deciding winners.
Every entrant gets a contributor flair.
These will be handed out by a bot, but due to our comment hiding system, sometimes it misses people. If you entered but didn't get one, just send the mods a message, and we'll fix you up.
Winners can enter Weeklies for which they have submitted the stock image, but they will not be eligible to win.
Please be sure to tag NSFW entries appropriately.
If you see anything inappropriate that's not tagged, either report the comment or send a message to the moderators.
The Schedule
All entries will be hidden for the first 48 hours.
Voting will open on Tuesday, after which all entries will be visible.
Contest mode will be enabled for another 24 hours. This will sort comments randomly, obscure vote counts, and automatically minimize child comments.
Contest mode will be disabled on Wednesday.
From there on out, each comment's vote total will be visible, and entries can be sorted by karma (just like any other Reddit thread).
The Battle will end on Saturday, December 1st.
Next week's battle will be posted early Sunday morning.
Best of luck, everyone, and have fun!!

Honestly I start on it Sunday..if I have to do cutouts that's when I start...pending on the manipulation composite,I don't finish the final pic until late Monday or Tues morn...once uploaded I make changes...before the battle goes live...I am bad about that. I have received lots of inspiration from this sub. awesome work from people in here...its a treat for me to open up to see what others have done! timewise..its a two day event for me,because I take my time...this weeks battle has a lot of entries...the most I have seen since I started doing the battle...

This looks great. I'm the same as you, its hard to keep track of how long you actually spend on these things as I usually put in a half hour here or an hour there. Just depends on normal life needing me. I always prefer the weeklies over the daily battles as you have more time to work on it. LOTS of entries this week with some crackers in the mix :)

I also like how you turned the parent into a caring one instead of a selfish one.

Looks great Tex, what did you do to achieve that effect? Looks really cool

took about 12 layers, turned the original photo into a smart object so I can re-edit my adjust later.. HSL>several curves adjustments>levels adjustments (custom> red, green, blue) > made two copies of the pic 1st copy added poster edges>adjusted the threshold>added oil paint 2nd copy> filter gallery/poster edge-set edge line and thickness to 0 this sets my color blends then change the first layer blending mode to multiply. do some dodge and burn >color fill then us special brush to paint with. I need to make a video like Cman but I dont know how..LOL I didn't see yours in here this week or did I miss it?

I like this concept! Upvoted!
Perhaps to make the image more compelling, you could give the raincoat some more dimension. It looks fairly flat. Tuck the feet reflection up underneath the subject. And maybe tinker with the crop and position... I think more foreground and a still-dark-yet gradiated (blue-colored?) background could give the composition a greater sense of loneliness and loss.
Keep rocking it, you've got great Design / conceptual sensibilities!
