Entry: Le Cabinet Des Modes
Creation vid The steps involving cutting up and blending the mannequin were omitted from this because I merged everything and saved before I could revert, which is a shame because that was one of the hardest and most technically interesting parts of doing this :(
Shoutout to /u/CptSasquatch for submitting this image - the task I set myself forced me to learn an enormous amount of invaluable information about rendering and a few new animation tricks, so thanks so much!

Nice work! I love how the suits exit slower than they enter, giving it an authentic feel.

I think it's a good thing you did this while learning. You didn't overdo the animation so the result it's clean, discreet and most importantly, funny!

I prefer the version without the painted face. it's more intellegible.

There is an artist on IG, Cecilia Paredes, who stages scenes like this with matching wallpapers, fabrics and body paints and it always looks amazing. I first tried to make something like that. But I didn't want to put in the work to deform the pattern on the mannequin... Now I find it kind of interesting how the pattern defies the form, but as you said it was just difficult to read with the full face/body paint.

I think that some work for the pattern on the dress is needed. A perfect match makes everything look too perfect and artificial... with respect to a staged scene with real objects.

The sheer work here is again extraordinary, I would have just found a pic of the beast from the live action and stolen it's head haha. One thing is annoying me though, is his suit buttons, when you warped they lost their round shape, I would have erasedand then replaced with the original round ones. Otherwise absolutely spectacular!

Thank you! There are quite a few issues with it, other than the one you just brought to my attention. I have a bad habit of not fixing things as soon as I see them and then end up not doing it. I think I may actually like this one enough to go back and put some more work in.

We should definitely have an operation about Chimeras! You would do wonders :)
