I've always loved the idea of combining firearms with melee weapons. Recently stumbled upon an inspiring concept and decided to create something in that spirit.
Modeling was done in Blender, sculpting in ZBrush, texturing in Substance, and rendering in Marmoset.
Looking at it now, I feel like the background is a bit flat and doesn’t quite capture the atmosphere I had in mind. Thinking about rebuilding the scene and re-rendering it with something more expressive.
Would love to hear your thoughts — on the weapon itself, the concept, or the visual presentation.

Zbrush for the high poly. Maya for the low poly and rig. Substance for the textures and final render in unreal engine. More from me 👇 https://www.instagram.com/told_by_3/?hl=en

I want to rig this model's door for an open/close animation but the door needs to slide laterally as the hinge rotates, which I can't figure out how to do. Video is a quick keyframe demonstration of what I want the rig to achieve. Also not sure if I should do this with bones, constraints, etc

Hey yall, It's been a year since I've graduated with a degree in 3D. With the state of the industry right now job hunting has been rough. (nearing 200 applications). I specialize in environment and material art, but there's almost no entry level positions available. Not a single person I graduated with has landed a job yet. I'm considering a pivot in my career since I've been unemployed for the past two months and feeling hopeless, and running out of money. My questions for yall are:
- Do you see the industry getting any better any time soon? Im in the US so everything feels a little chaotic right now.
- What adjacent industries have more opportunity? I have some professional experience with graphic design and marketing but that is also a competitive industry right now.
