USA : Musk pleading with his employees NOT to sell stock!
It is being reported that Chainsaw-In-Chief is pleading with his employees NOT to sell their TSLA stock. This is despite a $200/share price drop since Elmo started slashing the Federal Govt apart with a chainsaw.
What this tells you is that, the pressure from Americans and those around the world, is having a MAJOR influence!
It is proof that the little guy can make a HUGE difference!
100,000,000 little guys can beat the world's richest man.
Keep it up. Boycott Tesla. Sell TSLA. Close X accounts.
The executives at Trump's inauguration were from Meta, Google, Amazon, TikTok, LVMH, OpenAI, Reliance Industries. The next step needs to be winding down our consumption and over-reliance on these giant companies to enrich our lives. Start by voting with your wallet.
Me too. Canceled all my subscriptions, changed to only buy essentials from Costco, and made must have purchases right after the election. We wanted to wait for some of those purchases for financial reasons but needed them and didn’t want tariffs to hit us.
I got a lifetime plex pass and an account at IPtorrents, I'm done with paying for streaming services. If I really want to support something I'll see it in theaters or I'll buy it on physical media, but otherwise, I ain't giving them a dime.
I just placed my last order for specific light fixtures that match the existing one on my house. I spent a month in a half scouring the web and local stores within an hour drive searching for them with no luck.
I've shopped in my local area so much more these past two months than I have in years! I'm grateful for the wake-up call and feel ashamed it had to go this far to elicit meaningful change.
But yeah, it's been rad rediscovering local options and you just feel like an actual member of a community when you actively participate in public life, in person. I've been walking a lot more and just popping in shops to say hi and it makes you feel like you're an actual human existing and not some numbed out robotic wage slave with the same shitty, isolating routine every day.
Buy local, blue sky developed a few instagram apps, one wasn’t great but the others looked cool.
Building an OG Facebook replacement on blue sky by-protocol, meant to bring people together instead of drawing us apart to look at ads and disinformation, as the social network movie documented.
Establishing and supporting food coops in pharmacies that have closed in coordination with local agriculture would both display how much the price is inflated, but also lower the price of groceries and essentials.
Leave banks for credit unions, non profits, my credit card is 12% interest at my CU, some are 37%, digital credit union is large so they’d have low rates, or go local. Small ones participate in “shared branching” where any credit union in the shared branching system can act like the little one in your town.
Keeping things local, artisans, art, furniture makers, it supports our local economy which Amazon ruins.
Cost plus drugs is a non profit pharmaceutical company that will sell at cost, but it costs less than the copay that one usually pays and they take insurance.
“Unlike TikTok or Instagram, Skylight runs on the AT Protocol, a new social media technology home to 32M+ users!
Your content and connections aren’t locked into one platform—they exist on this open network. Switch to another atproto platform and your audience, content, and followers are right there with you.”
There's Frendica, which doesn't run on Bluesky's protocols, but is part of the Fediverse so it's on the same protocol as Mastodon, Lemmy, Loops, Pixelified etc.
I have a thought about having flea markets where money is no good. Everyone has to trade. They may already exist somewhere! It might be something I take up at some point to look into organizing one.
Mark Cuban has done some good things and acts like a reasonable dude with level-headed opinions so he's miles ahead of most of them but let's not pretend it isn't inherently fucked up to be a billionaire.
I stopped buying from them but i subscribe to amazon prime yearly and they already got my money. so instead I am sucking up as much of their bandwidth as I can until time to renew. then cancel.
Seeing all this makes me so happy! I wasn’t fully boycotting them until now, but I quit using Amazon like 3 years ago unless I couldn’t find what I needed anywhere else.
I fell into using Amazon when I left a resource rich city, and moved to a more suburban, less dense area. (I don't drive.) The inability to find health supplements (among other things) pushed me toward amazon since I could find most products I regularly use on that site, and shipping was quicker, cheaper and reliable.
I've finally broken free of them and am have returned to other online resources I've used in the past.
Not crazy about paying upwards of $8 or $9 for 5-10 day standard shipping, but fuck Bezos.
Hoping to find a way or area to live that's more walkable so I can avoid most online ordering going forward.
I finally cancelled my Amazon subscription. March 23 is my last day on the service. I really struggled with that because as a disabled person with small children, the convenience of having so many inexpensive items available for quick delivery has really been a lifesaver in certain situations. It was the last to go. I also struggled with it because I was a "Vine Voice" participant and got free items to review. It's how I compiled a whole new office wardrobe completely for free. But in the end, I couldn't deal with feeling like a complete hypocrite for continuing to give them my money for the monthly subscription. I have a ton of digital media that I've purchased from Amazon over the years; I guess now I need to start replacing them with physical media.
The problem is that there's lots of other cars to drive and nobody actually needs a Tesla. To unlearn Google and Amazon is a bit tricky, the convenience and reliance upon those two giants is massive. When I buy from the manufacturer instead of Amazon I end up paying shipping, which is sort of unfeasible on the small items I constantly need. Amazon has put all the little shops in town out of business for the most part.
Exactly why many of us (and a TON of Canadians) already boycotted Amazon and will continue to do so. The free shipping thing is kind of a joke anyway, if you look into it. View the prices without Prime and then with, and the prices change to make up for the free shipping in many cases. They used free shipping as a gimmick to take over all the little stores, as you mentioned, and they are not an ethical company by any means.
Thinking of Bezos' smirking face every time I see the logo made it easy to stop using Amazon. I had already mostly stopped anyway because it was unreliable and full of counterfeit merch. Anyone having trouble leaving AMZ - just read the 1 star reviews on anything you want to order. Usually enough to talk me out of it.
And I think the reason all tech billionaires who showed up for inauguration was because all of their companies have been steadily declining in popularity for at least 5 years. Everyone hates FB, Twitter has been declining since musky baby took over, Amazon has been fighting the unreliable reviews and other quality issues on top of employee treatment.
By showing up at the inauguration, they are ramping up their descent back to the anonymity they came from. I'm enjoying watching happen.
But it can be done. I gave up Amazon in January and I've actually ended up saving money, even though I pay shipping, because I'm only getting what I truly need/want. The "free" shipping is a marketing ploy.
Are we talking about canceling Amazon Prime or deleting their Amazon account? I delete my account, I’m spending less cause I’m buying less. Amazon is just too convenient. Not to mention they are EVIL!! Can’t people either money be good?
In Denmark the government started moving from X to Bluesky and the government is very slowly moving from american producta to EU products, due to fear of manipulation or shutdowns. Large grocery chains are marking EU produced products with a Black star to make it easier for consumers to boycott American made products. Tesla is tanking here as well. Weapons systems and military purchases are now being done primarily in the EU market instead of US, again due to concerns of Trump and potential killswitches embedded within.
Alot of this started kicking off after the Greenland annexation nonsense started, but it certainly hasn't gotten better. If Trump keeps this up, EU will have to turn into a superpower of military as well as commerce.
We didn't want it. But thanks to Russia and Trump we need it.
Supposedly Tesla is the center of Musks empire. He used stock in Tesla as collateral to buy Twitter (debt would be $44 Billion - current worth), and apparently used SpaceX stock as collateral to acquire more stock in Tesla which is currently in freefall. He is going to lose most if not everything if the company falls.
Yup, it’s funny too. 5 years ago I said my next car would be a Tesla. I wanted one bad. Now my current car has 220,000 miles on it, gotta get one soon. You couldn’t pay me to drive a Tesla now.
I’m looking around. The deals on Chevy Blazer EVs are crazy right now. $10,500 off the 2024s at my local dealership plus other incentives including 0% for up to 60 months.
I have a 2019 Kia Niro EV and adore it. I imagine things have changed a lot in the six years since they launched their full Niro EV, but I highly recommend! Spacious and comfortable!
One of my friends has had a nissan leaf for years. Ended up trading in for a newer model leaf. I dont know much other than that hes said its been reliable and not too costly to maintain.
I also average 80 miles daily and my Nissan Leaf (Plus, so it has the larger 62 kWh battery pack) comfortably gets me two days of driving off of one full charge.
I live in an apartment with no charger at home, so I just plug in at a public level 2 charger every couple days. But if I had a level 2 charger at home, I would never even have to think about fuel. My car would just always be charged in the morning.
It might be tough to stay charged at that rate, with a level 1 charger I can get about 10% in about 10ish hours. Though if you had the means to install it, a level 2 would double that rate. A dedicated line would probably be best though, you'd get over double the 120v line.
10% is about 8.5kwh on the equinox, right now (weather is milder) I'm averaging 3.5 miles per kWh, so about 30 miles.
You'd definitely need to charge at work if possible to stay charged.
Same. My husband and I were planning on getting an EV after our current car tanks. It probably would have been Tesla, but that's now off the cards. I'm sure other car companies will be producing EVs soon-ish.
Same. I wanted a TSLA but then it was scandal after scandal, recall after recall, and now I just want nothing to do with it. Plus, the material they use to build the cars is actually really bad.
I was about to type that too. There is no news to support Tesla going up today, except that Morgan Stanley lowered their TSLA target price from $430/share to $410. And it is only trading at 240 today.
Maybe the arrest of 3 individuals for attacks on Tesla is moving some investors to buy. But I would not be quick to assume trump's corrupt DOJ has the right people accused.
The company's fundamentals are also bad. Tesla's competitors are simply producing better products at a lower price point both domestically and internationally.
That's not surprising, management matters. I'm shocked that the stock price is so out of alignment with the company sales. Also, a CEO leveraging the stock for political goals (which the purchase of Twitter appears to be) should have been a red flag for investors.
The cybertruck recall was all over the news yesterday. Should've caused a notable drop in TSLA today. Shocked that it didn't. No way in hell I would touch that company right now as a consumer or investor
Everyone must have missed mark robers YouTube video on how shitty teslas self driving is. A supposed tech company can't even make a safe self driving car and got destroyed in testing compared to another company worth a fraction of what Tesla is supposedly worth. Eventually the house of cards will fall
Actually, he just got $1 billion from a billionaire, let me look up the news.
ETA: That figures, I can’t find it. It was before they came out with the news that there’s $1.4 billion missing from Tesla books. Hopefully THAT will scare investors?
My first thought having been someone who's worked for 3 publicly traded companies that went under.
Strong companies don't have all hands meetings to beg employees not to sell their shares.
When a company is weak and vulnerable, suddenly you start having meetings about how the "future looks bright!" and you start seeing cost cutting moves internally and management encouraging employees to participate in the employee stock purchase program (or at least not to sell, cause "we go some big things coming up").
I've been around enough failed companies to know what desperation and impending failure smells like. Tesla is reeking of it right now.
Boycott red corporate and small business America. Not just today, but every day! Shop at Costco and small local businesses you know are blue. Boycott Walmart, Amazon, Target, download the app “Goods Unite Us” to see who donated red. Fight fascism with what matters. Your dollar.
Not just one day or two days but every damn day!!
Edit: Let go of Facebook, Instagram and threads. I did it. You can do it too.
I have a friend who works for TSLA and he is not only liquidating his stocks but all of his little trinkets and things that are branded TSLA. I feel really bad for him because getting that job was a huge milestone for him and now it’s corrupted.
That really is sad. They would've been an exciting company to work for. Though anticapitalist then as well as today, I remember being really excited to live in a town where SpaceX rockets were being tested. There was so much hope for Tesla to usher in technological and environmental progress.
You can share with him that at least some of The Resistance feels bad about the car company being collateral damage to Chainsaw-in-Chief Musk. But, we will show no mercy. Musk should be booted from Tesla but the brand is going to have a hard time recovering even without him, party because so much has happened and Tesla didn't object until money became a big issue for them. Have some moral standards there corporate America.
Let’s keep this going. Cripple them ALL. Bring down the oligarchs and their neo-feudalistic agenda for the world. We CAN unite, worldwide. We can do this shit. Bring them down to their knees.
The wealthy decided to go full court press with pushing us out of our own country. We've been ripped off by the inheritance parasites for too long, and now the bastards are coming for our freedom, and threatening our allies. It's only right that the people who actually do the work in the country shove back hard.
The worst part is that I read that the executives are selling tons of their stock. But musk is trying to get the rank and file employees to take the hit for him.
I'm so glad we sold ours long before this mess. But this administration (I can hardly type that without laughing and crying) is still going to do it's best to fuck out retirement.
For people that think "free market" is like some boundary that everyone must abide by.
The Secretary of Commerce,"Howard W. Lutnick" directly go on Fox. And tell people directly to buy Tesla stock!!! How THE **** is this "Free Market" when owner and face of Tesla is at the TOP of the country that Tesla is in.
How is any US based EV company able to compete when US President is LITERALLY treating White House like car sales lot!! What the **** is going on!!
For everyone looking for alternate EVs.
Rivian, Lucid Motors, General Motors, Ford, Canoo, Fisker, and Faraday Future.
The funniest thing is... The stock has increased so much over the last few years, that people who have owned Tesla stock for 5 years or more will still sell with a profit.
But selling will still accelerate the stock's collapse.
So as an investor you can get rid of your Tesla stocks without losing money if you bought before 2021, while harming Elon Musk!
From what I read in passing a week or so ago, Musk bought Twitter with borrowed money, using TSLA stock as collateral. If the value of that stock drops too low, then the lenders could repossess Twitter.
I wish we could work up the same momentum for shorting Tesla like people did for AMC and GameStop . I know it’s a bigger giant but I feel like there’s enough people rooting for him to fail.
"Markets are efficient because of active managers setting the prices of securities... trying to drive the value of companies towards where we think they should be valued" Ken Griffin, Market Manipulator
I've said this and no one responds! I am looking into other carriers. Verizon sucks. They just lost the contract to the a$$hole so I bet they'll be ready to raise rates after losing a cool 2B. Seems like the smaller ones are all tied to the big companies. I'm 55, should I go to jitterbug lol. Suggestions?
Why is anyone still on twitter? Twitter is doing a lot more to ruin our society than Tesla but it gets a pass. Why? Because the revolution will not be inconvenienced.
Facebook?
The revolution will not be inconvenienced.
Amazon?
The revolution will not be inconvenienced.
When does it get bad enough for us to Inconvenience ourselves? I’m sure it will be far too late if it isn’t already.
For me Google is by far the hardest to give up. It's in everything I do. I've built my life around its services.
Meta .. finding an alternative to Whatsapp is going to be annoying.
I can't stand Instagram so never got into it
Amazon.. I'll get by.
Twitter, I gave up a long time ago.
I have a dilemma. If I give up my Facebook it means I can't communicate with many other people.
Don't get me wrong. I despise Zuckerberg. But we need communication in these times.
As much as I just outright want to quit it I feel like I'd be affecting others and myself negatively. What is everyone using? I've downloaded Skred because it's encrypted and not US base.
I haven't started using it yet.
What is everyone using for blogging etc.. the thing Facebook was originally famous for? We need robust ways to communicate. Breaking up into smaller, fractured, less stable services defeats our purposes and makes everything harder.
Let's all decide one thing and do it all at the same time!
Bluesky is really picking up steam.
Reddit is great but I feel its days are numbered, unfortunately.
Anyway, lets pick replacements for these services and let's all go there.. not every where.
I moved from Facebook, IG, and TikTok to BlueSky, Substack, and RedNote.
I canceled Amazon prime. I haven’t shopped at Starbucks or Target in almost 2 years. I stopped shopping at Walmart and changed to Food Lion and farmer’s markets.
I have never and will never buy, follow, or support anything Tesla.
They have finally inspired a lot of us to prioritize values over convenience and comfort.
It sounds like Musk wants his employees to bail him out by letting their cold, hard cash ride on his failing company's stock. That's socialism for billionaires. According to MAGA, socialism is bad, so it is a moral imperative for the employees to sell their stock asap.
Sort of reminds me of Enron, who told everyone, esp employees that things were fine, keep investing in their 401k, which was heavily invested in Enron stock 😩 Hopefully someday soon we'll be saying what's Tesla?
We’ve always been able to beat them. The problem is the fear tactics of worrying about rich people and corporations leaving or raising prices has convinced people they have the power.
Truth is, we’ve always had the power, people just don’t realize it.
If I run a business that sells $100 tires and I compete with other businesses selling $100 tires and then minimum wage goes up and so some businesses raise their prices then the ones left still selling tires at $100, with a lower profit margin, will just steal the other businesses customers and sell more tires making up for the loss in wage increases.
Sell baby sell. I just watched a good YouTube video on Tesla, it's still over valued. Board members are selling like crazy because they know it's over valued. The number of board members buying stock? Zero
Two big Tesla people (idk who they were I read the article this morning) said he either needs to hire a new ceo and step away from Tesla to do DOGE or leave government work to focus on his company.
At long last, one less twitter account here. I had to reset my password which then triggered a 48 hour waiting period to make sure it was "really me" before I could deactivate (which also has a 30 day waiting period). 🙄
The 48 hour waiting period performed exactly as intended and I forgot to return to deactivate my account for literally months.
They want you to get distracted, they're desperately clinging to the old forgotten and unused accounts.
Now the use of a chainsaw to take apart a Tesla is something I would pay to see. Maybe one of the new Department of Education’s wrestlers could do the honor!
I feel at a certain threshold the bottom will fall out from under Musks wealth and it will become a self feeding cycle of losing money, the more he loses, the more he loses.
Im not an economist by any means but it seems to follow if one’s wealth is mostly theoretical and tied to stock numbers that if you lose enough money the leak just ruptures and begins a full on flood.
He’d likely be a millionaire by the end, but he would be deeply screwed by the end.
