They wage a war against freedom and culture, because they despise the things they can’t understand. Art scares the fascists. Use it to fight them.

So more “dicks and swasticas” on Tesla wankpanzers with an additional quote of “I identify as a museum” on said wankpanzers? Got it

Then spray paint obscene things on government buildings, and report them to be fined.

Crucifixes are obscene

[ IDIOCRACY INTENSIFIES. ]

Can we stop calling this Idiocracy and call it what it is, which is fascism?

u/The_amazing_T 11h ago

Look, I'm all for calling out fascism when I see it. But I'm also a big believer in Hanlon's Razor: Never associate with malice that which can be adequately explained by incompetence.

This law would be damaging to a society that values art and free expression. But more notable, IT'S JUST STUPID. How could it ever be implemented? What body makes the determination of obscenity, and what recourse does an offending organization have? It's writing laws without thinking anything through, which to me is more IDIOCRACY.

Fascist? Probably. But also VERY VERY STUPID.

Aight, that makes sense. But…

What if I told you they know it’s stupid and can’t be properly implemented. The goal isn’t to regulate, it’s to create a chilling effect. That’s how it always works. It’s happening right now with DEI. People don’t know enough about what they want us to get rid of and how they’re going to enforce it, so it’s created a chilling effect. Better delete everything and avoid anything that could be interpreted as such.

They know it’s frivolous, difficult to implement, and open to challenge. But the point is to scare you with the thought of what they could do so you just avoid it entirely.

People keep bringing up idiocracy, when I see news about Luigi, someone always says it would make a good movie. Even people aware of the awful things going on are living in a lala entertainment land and can’t acknowledge it’s real, stupid or otherwise.

americans when anything happens: damn what if movie???

I'm a big disbeliever in Hanlon's razor. The fascists have shown and even told us outright what they are over and over again. There is no doubt to give them the benefit of, and they've proven they wouldn't deserve it if there was. You don't accidentally model your entire approach to government on 1930s Germany.

u/saintsithney 2h ago

This, just like the Third Reich, is really made by the smattering of both.

Stupid, arrogant, aggressive malice.

If the mark of civilization was the first body to show marks of healing treatments, then they are the brute that precedes the idea of treating another's wounds. Just enough intelligence to understand the capacity to cause harm and the malice to want to do just that.

u/loptopandbingo 8h ago

Never associate with malice that which can be adequately explained by incompetence.

There's PLENTY of incompetent bullies out there who are dumb as doorknobs and make people's lives hell because "huh huh it's fun"

Not sure if Texas has the most fucked up state government, but it’s up there.

I hate to break it to them, but all those paintings of naked ladies were created to be pornographic in a time before photography.

Something tells me they'll be fine with those cute lil baby angel butts.

Read the actual article - It’s okay if museums don’t have pictures of naked kids.
