Question Should I just pay with bank account if I only have debit? [USA]

I understand you usually wouldn't want to pay with the bank account option because it offers less protections.

But I only have a debit card anyway, so should I just get the extra 2% discount by paying with bank account?

I only use prepaid credit cards for these kinds of payments, hotels etc. I go get one of the prepaid Visa cards at the grocery store, put just a little over what I need to spend on it and pay with that. That way me, my real credit card and my bank account are safe.

I thought about doing this but also having a credit card allows you to issue a ChargeBack/Dispute. Which is exactly what I did for my last stay.

If you are worried that they take money out of your credit card without asking you can always temporary lock your credit card (which I had to do when a scummy host started to request money for damage I didn't do)
