51 hours and I finally finished FF16! It was a great story, I enjoyed the political intrigue and all of the characters but this was more of an action game than a jrpg if I'm being honest. All of the rpg elements have been stripped away, lvling is just a pop up where you don't get to customize anything and as with FF15, magic is now non-existent. Even getting new gear doesn't matter, I thought getting elemental based sword would you know, inflict elemental damage or getting Masamune would sap player's hp in turn for increased power but no, weapon just look different with increased stat and nothing else different aside from that so you can't change your load-out to switch up your game play either.
The only thing that offers a variety is the skills you unlock which is fun and you can combine for some crazy shenanigans but this was the ONLY thing that gave combat a variety. So, while I like the story of this a lot, it did drag on towards the end when the final boss is spouting expositions and the main character was like "what are you talking about?" which cracked me up. Sadly, FF series isn't a jrpg anymore because it's been stripped of everything and remaining rpg elements is only superficial. I'd still give it a 7/10 because of the plot and combat though.
Now some rest before starting another game, maybe wait till The First Berserker Khazan comes out and see if it reviews any good and pick that up.

Trails of Cold Steel III, and Bakeru.
I can't recommend Bakeru enough if you're looking for a fun 3D platformer, especially if you have any love for Mystical Ninja/Goemon.

Silent Hill 2. It’s a great game but I’m fearing that I may be reaching a breaking point as the game is so so intense and I’m getting worried I may be a bit too old for this.

I enjoyed SH2 remake a lot and wished the scare factor hit me as hard as it is hitting you. Maybe I've become too desensitized.

Sound design in that game is pretty good, from what I've seen!

I didn’t think sound design could be any better than the new Resident Evil remakes but this just might be the best, and most effective, I’ve ever heard.

I'll definitely be playing Split Fiction this weekend with my son, and maybe some more with u/arw1710. We're ~9 hours in and still loving it. I might get in some Persona 5 Royal as well.

More Avowed for me. I'm in the Thirdborn area and a lot left to do.
