Intermediate thoughts?
first time doing something this big (18x24) and haven’t gone for this level of realism before! was for a school assignment so the time I had was a bit limited, but I’d really love to do something similar in the future. For trying this again, any improvements people suggest? (Can be specific critiques that only apply to this artwork, but also anything that feels like it needs improvement that I can apply to a future piece would be good to know!)

Her eyes are a little high on her face but it might just be the refraction if the glasses, also it appears like she doesn't have shoulders or a collar bone. Otherwise it's exquisitely detailed and quite realistic compared to a real model

I feel it's helpful to see your reference photo side by side with the drawing on pieces like this. Because there are bits that feel off to me, but because humans come in a large variety of shapes and sizes, is entirely possible that some of those things are just... How the model looks. The hands seeming a little small, or the hair seeming very flat on the top left of the head, or the nose seeming a bit far from the mouth... All of those things are within "But actually humans can sometimes look like that" tolerances.
Without that, the main critique I have is that the lines on the left side of the nose, and in the wrinkle to the left of the mouth are a bit too sharp/dark. It's not drastically off, just that they feel a little flat in comparison to the rest of the face. And those details are HARD to get right. I've tortured over getting the sharpness correct on those so many times, and definitely failed worse than this.

I love it but I'd add a bit more wrinkles blotches on skin and sweat maybe some pores and some hair too. The more detail you add the more realistic it would look i think you are there already.

You did a really nice job with the shading I think! It’s all super nice, I would assume the eye placement is just a stylistic choice, only thing to me I would say to try again with is the shading on her nails

Idk I think its pretty dang good. The left hand pointer finger pressing into the neck looks like a little bendy, I don't think the straight fixed bone between finger joints bend or curve like that lol. The shadow above the lip could probably be defined a touch more. That one hill looks a little thick and the indent looks kind of shallow. Maybe not idk, I am no master. The core shadow around the fingers of the neck could use some darkening. That's all I can really pick out. Either way very good, I hope you get good grade..

The amount of expression in her face is perfect! Any more would be too over the top, and any less might be boring. My only problem with it is the composition. It feels kind of like just a floating head. With this amount of emotion, I want to see more of the person. No complaints about the drawing skill, though!
