Intermediate what to do to make it better
Yes, I know the angles wrong. It's too late to fix that, my art teacher said it was fine and I'd get better with more practice.
Second time using pastels, just looking for tips to make it a bit better.

Add white glimmer to the eyes. It's not photo accurate to do so, but itll make him look lively /innocent

Yessss I do this to all my animal art. Just one or two dots of white give it such a dewy eyed cute look

Honestly you did a great job. You’ve captured the essence. I would leave it as is. :)

Missing grey lashes on your right eye. Make the eye more round than it should be be.

Honestly I think this is a great piece! There’s nothing I would change besides maybe some white shine in the eye? Great work, keep it up!

Although you don't see much in the reference, I like to add a more noticeable highlight in the eyes, makes them look alive and stuff. Its like when anime removes highlights or darkens them for an evil, dim look
Personally I would render the dogs tag a little more, doesn't need to be detailed, just like what youve done with the background floof :)

You fucking sent this. Great style, great design. I think if you want to add depth then pay attention to the value and the direction of light. Right now it’s flat. To round it out, do a value study ignoring the colors, and then you’ll see where to darken you colors to add more form.
Anyway, I think it looks pretty good as is.

Camera angle made it a bit odd and oversaturated it

You don't need to copy the picture. It's good how it is. Lighting and angle are relative anyway.

Just a bit darker shading (specifically, above where the nose begins on the face, left side of the face, and the cast shadow on the body left by the head) would give it more depth
And like somebody else said, eye shine. It just brings animal portraits to life. Even with the reference photo doesn't have it, art needs it. This is often true for human portraits, too.
