Beginner Stuck on this piece

Hi 👋

I feel stuck on this piece, I feel the different elements are in competition with each other but it's also too empty without any of them. I guess I'm looking for advice on composition, palette or anything else that seems off. Also the man's face kinda feels off?

a lot of your values are very similar- you can see that here in this greyscale version of your piece. some notable ones are both their skin tones w/the sky, her jacket with her shirt, both of their skin and the sky, and her hands on her boots (socks?). try changing up the values and see what you get!

overall, i like the bones of your palette and the style and posing is very cute. i also love their hair!
