Where to go?

We are US Citizens. My sister turns 40 April 2026. I have six siblings. 11 nieces/nephews. My sister said she wants to go somewhere beautiful with clear water. It would prob be third week of April.

I am looking for recommendations or places to look into for where to go - to make it easier just thinking all inclusive resort somewhere. The plan is for me to look into it - run by her a few recommendations and see which she prefers. Then plan from there.

So here I am asking strangers what they recommend. I know I can google it. But I like hearing what people suggest.

There are 100+ islands (islands with ppl living on them) in the Caribbean each wit it's own unique Caribbean vibe, ppl, food, beaches etc. Is it that tourist expect us to jump up and say "pick me tourist!! We d best!!" ?? It's honestly easier to just google than ask us.

You are asking in the wrong place; that's not how you plan a trip like that. Go to one of the travel websites (TripAdvisor, CheapCaribbean.com or Booking.com), find what you're looking for there and then come here with your selection and ask about it. Most people in this sub can't provide advice for you, we can't relate to your situation, so find advice from someone who does.

Keep it simple. Jamaica. Bahamas.

Close to USA. Plenty of tourist friendly things. Short flight. Heavily tourist optimized. Plenty cultural exhibits.

Jamaica. Bahamas. Anything you're probably looking for can be found in Jamaica or Bahamas. Unless it's a specific cultural thing you want to know about or experience, Jamaica. Bahamas.

Nah don’t send them over here 😭 I knew they’d start flocking to other countries sooner or later but I didn’t realize it would be this soon. I’m sure Europe has a lot of space though

It means we’re not a tourism subreddit and are tired of rich people posting here looking for “all inclusive resorts” or asking where to park their yachts. That’s what r/Caribbean is for. This is exactly why we have beaches in our own countries that are labeled as “tourists only.” Because we keep entertaining entitled people.

I have been to St Lucia. I’m tempted to go to St Vincent just because you said this.

No but at this point I think my biggest concern is going to be who will even allow Americans in. 😂😭😭😭

We have. A good amount of people with the youngest going to be 3 and oldest going to be 62.

In Dominican Republic the more fancier resort are now in Punta Cana. BUT the surf is horrible, not a fun beach to relax in the water, rough waves. Not a fan. The North Coast is better, Puerto Plata International airport is close by. Puerto Plata, Cabaret (wind surfing beach) , Sosua. Towns are nearby you can visit . Definitely take a cab to Maimon to eat the fresh fish catch of the day. You'll see many families in weekends passing thru.
