REQUEST Need a little help paying rent this month .
Im short $125 for my rent that has to be paid today and I’m starting to panic because I thought I would have figured it out by now and I haven’t. I didn’t mean to wait until the last minute I just really believed I would have had my taxes by now since Tuesday will be 3 weeks that I filed them . I started my new job this past week and I get paid next week but that doesn’t help me today. The frustrating part about all of this is that I’m only short on my rent because my tire blew out driving home from work two days ago and I had to get it towed to Pep boys just to get a new tire put on. That $400 for the tow and tire was my rent/ grocery money for the week that I used. I feel defeated and I am super embarrassed to even ask for help but I don’t know what else to do . I literally have no other options and I’m desperate at this point . If anyone is able to help me , my daughter and I would be forever grateful. Thank you!
**I just want to say that seeing everyone on this sub come together and show up over and over again for random strangers everyday has really restored my faith in humanity and in this world . God Bless .

Have you tried talking with your landlord to let them know what happened with your tire, and asking if there's any way you can work out an arrangement for the $125 you are short?
I just really believed I would have had my taxes by now since Tuesday will be 3 weeks that I filed them.
You can check on the status of your refund using the IRS "Where's My Refund" Tool at:

Anyone who needs extra help affording food can visit a food pantry or meal program. Some pantries or programs may have additional requirements, like living in a certain area.
Pantries typically offer non-perishable items like canned goods, boxed foods, dried grains, cereals, and condiments. Some also provide fresh produce, refrigerated or frozen foods, and household supplies like personal care items, paper products, pet food, diapers, and formula.
I literally have no other options and I’m desperate at this point.
Have you tried contacting 211 yet??
211 is an essential service that helps find the right resource or service for whatever issue you need help with...rent/mortgage, utilities, security deposits, utility deposits, food, clothes, medical expenses, prescriptions, bus passes, pet food, diapers, formula, etc...to name a few!!
You can call, text or chat with them at any time, 24/7.
Their service is completely free, and totally confidential. You can also visit their website...they have a database of resources searchable by zip code:
Sending hugs and positive vibes to you, OP, that you'll be able to get the help you need!! 🙂

Are you able to ask for an advance on your paycheck? I’ve heard of people being able to do that. As for groceries, try local food banks. Many churches have food banks, and some will even help with a little bit of cash, or even gift cards. I wish I had more advice, and a way to help further.
