🧠 brain goes brr "I like having autism."
Had to take my rabbit to the vet yesterday. She had to get surgery, so I asked the vet:
"When are you doing the surgery?"
"Tomorrow afternoon."
"Okay, but - can you be more specific please? It's just that-"
What I wanted to say was, "I like having some idea of a time schedule because I have autism", but what came out was:
"I like having autism."

I had a giggle. Sorry OP, I don’t mean to be rude by that! I promise you this is the kind of silly thing that comes out of my mouth as well when I’m a bit stressed but it’s good to laugh at it. I can totally imagine me saying something similar by accident

Thank you for asking. Her operation went okay, they removed all the bit sthat needed removing and fixed all the things that needed to be fixed. Couple of hours ago, when we last checked in, she was awake but still groggy from the anaesthetics and not eating yet. The other rabbit (healthy but keeping her company) was fed up not being home and was apparently very angry. :3

It's cute as heck that you brought her a friend, and the friend got angy from wanting her to be better so they can go home. Glad the rabbit repair was a success!

Yeah, the vet also said he was very protective of her. Every time they needed to pick her up for a check up or to give her meds, they had to check in with him first for permission.

It is cute, but it's also necessary. Being apart for a couple of days would break their bond and that's not good for either of them. So they stay over at the vet's, too, when their partner needs to be there for a while!

Took me so long to figure out why loudly saying salts would make you smile a little, then stop. 😭😂

Knowing me, I’d make this exact same flub.
I have so many spoonerisms and thought soups because my brain struggles to string a sentence together and does what it can with my fragments of thoughts instead.
It only really gets embarrassing when I need to actually be coherent (doctor’s offices, talking to cashiers, etc.) and literally have no way to stop myself from messing up

This needs to be a flair. And I hope your rabbit is fine!

I was officially diagnosed with autistic burnout on Wednesday (actually realised on Thursday that that was World Autism Awareness Day...the irony). Anyway, I used ChatGPT to look up some things I could do based on what my GP told me to try and see what works (I also have ADHD so that complicates things).
Anyway, ChatGPT came back with the attached image. It says "sorting beads, stickers..." - I read "sorting bread sticks" and was thoroughly confused for a few seconds 😅
