You can just use a returning weapon or take 3 levels in fighter for eldritch knight tho

Returning weapons make you unequip your primary if you aren't actively using it as your primary and neither of the returning weapons are particularly great IMO. Nyrulna is a top tier weapon with a huge downside of 3d4 splash damage that can hit your own melee characters. Either way returning weapons aren't great if you prefer to have a different weapon as your primary.

As for the Eldritch knight multi class all I can say is ewwwwww. I'm kidding that's actually really solid but I prefer pure barb on Karlach over multiclassing.

Maybe when I finally get around to my second origin playthrough as her I'll do pull the trigger on the full throwing build.

Hammers thrown from a height are absolutely devastating. She can critically miss and still hit for unavoidable crush damage it’s so funny.

And the ring of flinging or whatever, my Karlach rocks that all game

That’s a waste of 3 levels imo, inventory space is not an issue in this game
