I fixed mine by making her the hyper support healer character. It was perfect for my first Honour run as she was just a Sanctuary powerhouse that ran away IF I was fucking up the battle too much.
It literally saved my run a couple of times and I hated the later bosses that were immune to Sanctuary and just killed her even when she had it, but still, at that point she was already good enough.
Level 3, and it remains strong throughout the entire game, especially when paired with certain items. Don’t be afraid to use your spells, that’s what you have them for
Depends on who’s using it and what other spells they have. My character had the Luminous Armor and Luminous Gloves that apply radiating orbs when dealing radiant damage. So I almost exclusively used spirit guardians, upcasting it for more uses
My other characters also had spirit guardians, but I didn’t spam it as much on them
You can find a personal list of the party she was in when she got abducted by the mind flayers down in her cloister. She is 100% listed as the "healer."
Light Cleric is the strongest cleric in BG3 imo, although sadly it's not thematic with Shadowheart. Light Cleric's high damage, especially AoE damage, is very powerful at every point in the game.
I mean kinda. In DnD, Selûne has three different domains, with only two of them in the Player’s Handbook (Twilight, Life, and Knowledge). But without mods, I set her to Light Domain after she becomes a Selûnite because I like offensive spellcasters. And if you’re wondering, Shar’s domains are Death and Trickery.
Warding flare, radiance of the dawn, scorching ray, and fireball are all very strong and get accessed at a steady cadence such that light cleric's power curve is very nice.
It's not one of those caster builds with back loaded power that you access in the mid or late game. Light cleric is early, mid, and late game power.
In every playthrough i set her to life cleric, make a mad dash for that bless staff that buffs bless to 2d4 and then run a bunch of characters with sharpshooter / great weapon mastery and demolish people while shart just buffs/heals.
yup life cleric ftw. I respec her messy uneven stats too. I don't change every character's class, but I do respec their stats with withers at a minimum asap.
This worked wonders in my most recent playthrough. I try to keep my character's classes as close to "canon" as possible so she remained a cleric but swapped to healer domain and I multiclassed into rouge to get a 2nd bonus action. She was a healing MACHINE. She was loaded up with some of the best armor and equipment so when she healed the party she went back up to full HP and she never went down cause she avoids everything. When she did go down though, she would pick herself up and heal everyone around her thanks to the blood of lathander.
I was playing with my gf so I kept it simple with just cleric and rogue, mass cure wounds twice per turn and a free one that doesn't cost a spell slot from the necklace of restoration. We were using party limit begone + enhanced tactician so everyone getting healed twice per turn with bless was enough I didn't wanna make it any more OP 😭 and we never had to worry about spell slots cause she was a paladin and I was a sorcerer so we were snoozing a lot
I did use the cleric/rogue/bard build in my honor run though, it's (literally) a life saver.
I wanted to make sure she saw as much as possible so I didn't mind long resting frequently cause it triggers story cutscenes, but when I play by myself I go empty on spell slots before I rest 😭😭
I turned her into my dedicated healer on my honor run, and she became so stacked with healing boosting items that a single level one healing spell would heal like 20 points and give me 7 extra hit points, it was great :)
How did you do it? Mine gave bless, healed for +4 I think, and gave +3 extra hit points but that was the best I could do. I even made her a Warden of life user with rogue level 3 so that she could heal with that twice per turn.
I might be exaggerating the exact numbers, but I remember level 1 healing spells still being very useful, which was great for spell slot economy, I think I was using these items: The Whispering Promise, Ring of Salving, hellriders pride (might have been reviving hands im not sure), and the boots of aid and comfort.
Now I might be wrong because I ended up deleting that save after I beat it on honor mode, so it's all off the top of my head. I hope this helps you, though, because Shart was the savior of my campaign several times :)
I had shadow heart read the necromancy book. Now she summons that ghoul mob, another level 6 summon, and uses the spirit circle thing. She might not do much direct damage, but her summons and spirit ring do mad damage each turn while keeping her free to heal.
I just had her read the book because my tav didn’t have enough in arcana to get through it. Worked out rather nicely though. She is a staple in my party now.
Same. Domain of Life cleric goes really hard. Your channel divinity becomes a huge AoE heal around you, like a better Prayer of Life that works in combat. And access to all the usual suspects like Spiritual Weapon goes a long way too.
