Help Important items
I'm new to the entire universe of DnD. I've always wanted to play and never have but Baldurs Gate has been flipping great. But my brain is telling me to absolutely horde everything and it's starting to become overbearing. Too many items but idk what to keep and what not to keep. Especially books. They feel important. Any tips on whats definitely trash besides, well, trash?

It'll be a quest item/have an orange colored border if it's important.
There some story items that if you paid attention you would just known about in your current run.
Everything else can sell.

Will it explicitly say that in the description for the item? I've never really looked at the color either except for armor and weapons. So that's something I'll start looking out for more. But I'm definitely about to sell about 100 books.

Some quest related items are not labeled as such. But there aren’t a lot of them.

Another thing you can do to help yourself if you feel you want to hold onto an item is to send it to your camp.
If you want to keep things in your camp organized, you can either use specific types of bags in your camp chest for specific items. IE, potions in a pouch, books in a backpack etcetera.
If you don't like using your camp chest for that then you can also send specific items to specific characters in your camp town just remember which unused character gets which type of items at your camp

Elaborate on storage in my camp? Is there more than just my chest I can store items in?

Once you’ve read a book, you don’t need to keep it. The important ones won’t let you get rid of them, but 99% of the books you pick up you can sell after you’ve read them. You’re Tav remembers what’s been read :)
