$2 tequila Tuesdays wrecked a lot of studying plans

$3 long Islands on I think Thursdays were insane. They weren't made week either, almost killed me multiple times.

They were up to $5 when I was in college 😅 (was still a great price)

Killed me every Thursday in Tempe but totally worth it. Man it was a great time to be alive. I haven’t had one since 2009.

Goddamn. Casa in Tempe with the buckets. So many nights I just don’t remember.

Good god. That was a decade ago. Holy crap.

I went to visit a year ago. Mill avenue is nothing like it was when I was there. It was sad to see. We truly experienced it at it peak.

Do you remember the guy covered in beer tabs? He was an icon for a bit, but I haven’t seen him in a while.

Also, screw that senior citizen home that shutdown shady park. I dislike everyone in that building.

Do they even say thirsty thursdays anymore?

I don't think they can promote drinking nights at bars anymore, atleast in IL. I don't live there anymore so I'm not sure but I think I remember laws stopping "shots 2 for $x" or "ladies free" nights or any other deal to push young adults to drink.

Holy fuck I would have died

Illinois has some legit party nights at bars around college campuses back 15+ years ago, not sure about now. The long islands were at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale I think but maybe Naperville, it was a blur.

Right now at this moment, in my country, long Islands are about $4-5. Specials $2-3. Anyway point is I can't relate to these prices without someone mentioning the current price. 😅

Current price I've seen near me is close to $11 but im nar a beach and tourist area so everything is pricey.

Dollar drafts on Wednesday and I lived behind the bar.

I can't drink Amber Bock anymore because of this.

College got in the way of partying for most of us…

Quarter beers on Thursday did me in

Harpos?

Zan & Boogie in Springfield. They didn't survive covid. I've heard some fun stories from friends that went to Mizzou though

.25 cent pitcher night threw me off every week

3

u/Due_Adeptness_1964 Jan 23 '25

How big were the pitchers?! And what year was that, cuz wow you could’ve gotten shitfaced for less than $2! lol

3

u/Leprikahn2 Jan 23 '25

Full 64oz pitcher. This would have been around 2009ish. It was terrible beer, but we saved change all week for Wednesday night.

4

u/Due_Adeptness_1964 Jan 23 '25

Damn, that’s a crazy bargain tho! I thought quarter beer night in 2006 was legit, but ur story takes the cake! lol

FlipFlops in Tallahassee, Florida. I doubt it's still open, but it was a good time.

Pensacola piano bar had nickel beer night on Thursdays.

Beat the clock baby. I usually found out if I beat it when I woke up from my blackout and checked my account.

u/PalpitationLegal4550 Jan 23 '25

A lot of relationships too..

1

u/DiscardedP Jan 23 '25

I remember college day with beat the clock. Every drink started at .25 and would go up in price by .25 on Monday. Great way to start week.

I’m old. In my day Tuesday nights at the college bar I worked at was .50 cent well drinks. $3 cover charge

1

u/eareyou Jan 24 '25

Nowadays they have $20 cover and $15 well drinks 😂
