There was a baseball pitcher, Antonio Alfonseca, who had six fingers on his pitching hand. Not sure of the advantage, though.

Yup, that’s why his nickname was El Pulpo (the octopus). I wonder if the extra digit allowed him to get more movement on his pitches?
