Heā€™s coming back to earth. There are scores to settle and dog is the only being innocent enough to end the madness weā€™ve been living in.

Because when you find a dog, if you get a dog, that you loveĀ , you better hold onto that dog, tell you why, because youā€™ll never have another love, like that dog.

This right here. Our puppers left us over five years ago after being with us sixteen years. He passed away in my arms. Miss him every single day.

Mine left this world last September 25th after a blood cancer diagnosis that had formed in 6 months (based on the blood panel we did for his annual at that time that showed no issues) and he stopped eating, I just thought he hated his new food, but luckily got him in quickly. Our pups are playing together

I haven't been able to have another dog after our Suzie left us. I can't even look at ACDs without being mournful.

Itā€™s been 4 years since I lost my old gal. Iā€™ll miss her for the rest of my life. I went years only having cats at home because I thought ā€œdogs are too needyā€ but that all changed the day I met my Goldie. I instantly realized that dogs truly love their people. Itā€™s not neediness, itā€™s love. A love we arenā€™t worthy of.

I thought the same thing when my Cash passed last year. He was my soulmate.

My partner wanted another dog and I said IF we found the right dog Iā€™d go for it. I wanted an older dog, 2-7 years old, good with cats, and a male, preferably a bully breed but Iā€™d be open to whatever breed if it was the right dog. We were out running errands when he saw a post for an adoption event a couple miles from us. I only went because who doesnā€™t wanna pet dogs?! Zero intention of meeting the right dog.

The adoption lady plopped a little pup in my lap, and she just chilled with me, gave only a couple kisses but wasnā€™t coconuts. She ran around with the other dogs but again, wasnā€™t crazy. I put in an application for her, mad about it because she was 6 months old, a small breed mix of some sort (they think Shiba Inu, beagle and hound). Did a meet and greet with my cat, who was immediately besties.

Having a puppy is such a pain in the ass but I truly believe we were meant to find each other.

My girlfriend and I have been serial adopters of elderly animals over the past 7 years, to offer them a nice home for their last years. Each time we go through the euthanasia process we have a conversation about taking a break from adopting for a bit, but thereā€™s always some new little guy/gal that makes their way into our lives. I think the universe has its own animal distribution system that cannot be argued with lol. Iā€™m thankful for every furry friend who has made their way into my life. The whole hospice situation can be a lot to handle, but I wouldnā€™t trade a single one of my furry family members (past and present) for anything.

He's going to be a guardian angel to a riot dog.

I just woke up from a night shift and read that as hot dog. Haha.

Gotta say, guarding food, esp hot dogs, is not any dog I've ever mets forte. I forgive them for that because they are fluffy and good boys anyway
