I had one that changed colors with temperature, and it was really one of the best hot wheels ever. Eventually, I played with it so much all the paint wore off, so I pretended it was a DeLorean. Imagine my joy when I found a new one and a hot wheels delorean in my stocking that Christmas.
This is so cool! When my husband and I would go for drives we loved passing by the crews of luxury sports cars (sometimes supercars) who happened to be on the same drive. What a treat for the kid. I love all the revving! Gets some people going.
Bonus points if the driver gets out and is dressed like batman. I was going to say dressed up like a Lego minifig to go with the toy theme, but that costume wouldn't fit in the car.
Oh man I am about to bring a downer but it’s too specific not to. We had a dude that dressed like Batman and drove a lambo that visited sick kids for years in Baltimore. He unfortunately got killed when another driver hit his broken down Batmobile.
Lost my nephew to cancer a few months back and we have a picture of him with someone in the Batman costume (super high quality too!) who was visiting the kids in the hospital. Cherish those kind hearts that try to bring some joy to these sick and dying children.
Cops stopped a Lamborghini one time with driver dressed as Batman who was going to a hospital to see sick kids. He took pics with them all. It was in a YouTube clip I think

I used to drive a classic car. One of my friends’ kids had the hot wheels one and it was his favorite. I offered him a ride. He couldn’t have been less interested. He said to me “but I have the toy one” like it was obviously way cooler, so I just told him maybe if I work hard enough, one day I can get the toy.

My parents got mister softee to just park his truck in front of the house for my birthday party one year and everyone could go up and get anything they wanted as often as they wanted. It felt so baller. My sister ended up having the same thing at her wedding many years later.
Never heard of mister softee. Just looked it up and now I'm kinda pissed. It looks so good and there isn't one even remotely close to me. This would have been a staple to my childhood.
We had a Mr Sofftee, in fact he was the high school English professor. My father was a state Trooper and also close friends with Mr Softee and nearly every summer day for years the ice cream man was parked in front of my house. All the kids came to my house at the end of the street and I’m sure parents felt safe sending them. It was all
fun and games until several years later Mr Softee was my AP English teacher.
Yeah they had their own unique jingle that suffered from the regular ice cream trucks. It was getting pretty expensive even 20 years ago. Think a shake was like $5.
I never had a good birthday growing up. Ever. So for my 40th birthday, my husband rented me a hello kitty bouncy house and my friends brought a hello kitty birthday cake, plates, and party hats. Even though I came down with a nasty case of strep throat in the middle of that party, it was the best birthday party ever.
I saw one of those before! Not a hot wheels car, but a sports car that had that kind of paint. Got to see it change colors as they sprayed cold water on it.
I haven’t been that excited to see a car since I was a teenager. I wouldn’t have said my dream car was a Lamborghini decked out in Hot Wheels wrap, but I’ll be damned if that didn’t shoot straight up near the top of the list when I saw how happy it makes kids (and grown-ups, for that matter).
You know every other kid and dad on that street were drooling. Awesome gift from dad. Kid's going to take that video to school and show everybody. Of course, the other kids are going to go home and ask for that, too. Good luck to those parents. :)
Kinda makes me feel bad for the other guys - everyone there probably thought they had a beauty on their hands and then the hotwheels dude rolls up and absolutely one ups every other one lol.

I would've lost my mind as a kid if I asked for this and a HOT WHEELS lambo showed up. That's so cool
