Oh, god, excellent point… but I’m sure OP is aware! Especially in a place like NYC.

I had a close-call with bedbugs just last year, and just BARELY managed to avoid them infecting my home. Sadly, it meant I had to remain separated for months from two of my darling dogs, who had spent a week in my ex-husband’s infested house while he was pet-sitting for me. Not his fault—just horrible luck. I had to be SO incredibly vigilant for months, using preventative treatment consistently so my dogs could come back home on the sooner side… all the while watching helplessly from a distance as my ex and our dogs suffered from the bites.
