Yeah, so my question to surfers is: how good of a surfer do you have to be to do this? Is the guy in this video almost certainly a current or former professional or can it be done by a skilled amateur?

I grew up surfing and can confidently say I don’t have the balance for that. I have friends that could do that though. They’re not pros, but they’re good enough to be local legends in their towns.

Grew up surfing. My dad taught me and it was done on a longboard. Much longer than what that dude has with his kid. Bro has gotta be a pro. I still struggle on my shortboard for balance (I don't have many opportunities to run to the beach to catch waves nowadays)

A relatively accomplished surfer should be able to pull this off.

It does take a little talent, definitely not required to be a pro or anything, this guy happens to be highly skilled surfer named billy kemper I believe

Bro it's a few seconds long video. Why are you so invested?

I just took a lighthearted jab at you answering an or-question that cannot be answered with yes or no with no. Does that make me invested into the video or might something else be the case?
