She and Dinklage as Tyrion got the “Hollywood Homely” treatment — give a bad haircut or a small scar to an otherwise objectively beautiful person and act like they’re hideous in-universe.

Yeah Tyrion in the books is described as almost an abomination, then later picks up a battle wound that disfigures him horrifically. In the shows he starts off as "smouldering" then picks up a battle wound and becomes "smouldering with a scar".

Fr, in the books he pretty much gets his entire nose cut off in the Battle of the Blackwater, in the show he just gets a sexy scar across his face. Though I assume at least part of the reason for them changing it is because the prosthetics/CG would be more trouble than it's worth.

"smouldering with a scar"

This just made me think of Jeremy Irons's Scar from The Lion King.

Honstly, I it is more powerful that he gets treated like shit because he has dwarfism and his mother died giving birth to him. The public prejudice exists from gossip, and the hate of his father from mourning for his wife.

When they’re both as hot as they are, you can only tone them down so much.
