Nature I thought this was a tsunami. But it’s just clouds! Nature just amazes me and scares me as well.

Something feels so off about this place.

North American suburbs always give me such an eery feeling. Looks like it's rendered on a computer from the late 90s; everything looks so unnatural. The architecture, the distance between the houses, the symmetrical placement of the trees, the lack of... idek, life? Everything looks so lifeless, it's creepy as heck

There's actually a horror/sci-fi movie from 2019 called Vivarium that plays in on this feeling.

You sure there's no mothership hiding behind those clouds?

I may be a grownup but I swear to God if I see that and someone blasts a deep, loud foghorn at the same time, I will not be responsible for what I do next. No pants left unshat, no child left untrampled.

This is an optical illusion caused by the thinning of the clouds between layers, allowing daylight to shine through. Because the shelf cloud is thicker and contains more moisture, it actually stands out against the illuminated background.

I thought I saw a Tsunami this morning.... it turned out to be clouds.
Where do you live?
Ohio, why?
That would be a world ending tsunami that makes it to Ohio.

... and if there were a tsunami that was hundreds of feet high, it would be interesting to see how my people would run.
Where are you going to go? There is no chance of survival. You might as well take the next several seconds to pray, even if you're not a believer... just in case, ya know?

Wow. That is the most terrifying non-tsunami cloud formation, straight from a nightmare. The pattern to the right doesn’t look much safer? What is your general location, OP?

Why does that neighbourhood look like the "unedited footage of a bear" neighbourhood? 🫣

The video was taken in Cincinnati Ohio a few years ago. I live there and remember this video going viral like 2 or 3 years back because I was excited my city was getting viral attention

I saw clouds like this when I lived in Virginia. They come off the mountains weird.

I’ve seen that coming over the bridge in SF and almost shit my pants. Totally looks like a giant wave.

Major cold front approaching. This is known as a squall line. As a pilot, you stay far away from those.

Its just a shelf cloud, quite rare and impressive to look at but not very dangerous or anything.

It took me so long to make out that they’re clouds even though the title specifically says so-

Wow. I'd have definitely needed a change of undies if I saw that in real life and it was roaring like a tsunami...

Man, hell nah! I’ve seen way too many alien horror flicks to be caught standing outside just staring at some weird-ass cloud formation—next thing you know, that shit’s pulling you up into it or a damn spaceship starts firing laser beams. I’m good!

That is a rolling wall cloud. Fairly rare. Usually indicates a storm front rolling in. Seen it only once and the storm behind it was quite intense.

Yeah safe to say those people should have been going to the basement, that's a nasty looking storm

If it were a tsunami, the only escape route would be a submarine in your garage or a large drone with seats
