Nature A pike jumped out of the water likely chasing prey and got stuck in a branch and died. Now, a bird has made a nest in its mouth. Life is a circle.

Can’t birds smell ?

No, birds do not have olfactory nerves. That’s why you can put a baby bird back in the nest if they fall, the parents won’t “reject” them, like some mammals are said to do.

Oh so I don’t need to feel guilty about farting beside my pet parrot?

Is it able to reproduce that awful sound?

Everything smells delicious when breaded and fried. Except when your mom cooks it.

This has been posted before, that’s not what happened… a local put it up for birds to use as a nest or something like that

Far more likely the area flooded and that's how the pike got caught up...they're lazy opportunist feeders and don't tend to jump unless they're jacks (small ones).

It’s a reminder of how everything plays a role in the bigger picture, even in ways that might seem paradoxical.

Weirdest circle I've ever seen

It's a shame birds can't really appreciate how badass using the skull of one of your predators as a nest is.

u/AdPale1230 19h ago

Lol what the fuck does life is a circle even mean?

No, a pike did not jump into a tree. No matter how many zero effort reposts of this are made a pike did not jump into a tree.

Nature doesn’t waste anything it just keeps recycling. Kind of poetic, in a slightly horrifying way.

Cycle? You mean the pike will make a nest in the bird's mouth next?
