I definitely wouldn’t stick my hand in his mouth. Hippos are actually more dangerous than sharks

Yeah, and unlike sharks, who don’t really care if you get near them, hippos won’t hesitate to bite you if you get in their territory

This guy is probably a bot btw, all his posts link to random articles about coconuts and hippos

I genuinely panicked every time he put that arm in there

IIRC the bites are fatal 100% of the time

Additional info/context: The bite force of a hippopotamus is approximately 1,800 pounds per square inch, making it one of the most powerful in the animal kingdom. Equipped with large canines, some exceeding a foot in length, they can easily crush a crocodile, watermelon, or coconut. To put this into perspective, hippos’ bite force is stronger than that of 10 humans combined

An article that details on some of this

"Ten humans combined" is such a weird metric , cause now im just imagining 10 people biting me lol

u/CrustyFlaming0 17h ago

So we just need 11 humans to join forces and bite the hippo back?

Watching the coconut get demolished, then trying to stick your hand in, is some braindead stuff. I guess there's a reason for the Darwin awards.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Why even do that?

u/Imaginary_Emu3462 21h ago

Yeah, and they, sometimes, are surprisingly aggressive towards humans

The guy sticking his hand in didn't think this was "effortless"

2

u/PerroRosa 18h ago

And he is not even using his teeth, he's basically crushing it using his tongue (if that's a tongue) and the roof of the mouth

Why is he putting his hand inside the hippos mouth??

1

u/de_MK7 19h ago

Why would you think it's safe to stick your hands in there after witnessing that?
