They are building (have built) a 115 ft building that is extremely crucial to the safety and security of air traffic control and not anywhere near the inside of the city, bruv

Thank God. Long, long needed. It’s a small miracle there have been no crashes at the Bend airport. A state of the art control tower is critical. No commercial flights now or in future but a ton of corporate jets, private flights and TWO flight schools operate there.

It’s an air traffic control tower homie… it’s gotta be tall

It's literally built already. They have been working on the exterior framing but the metal structure is all in place. It's just East of the runway

Turns out air traffic control bunkers weren't a hit.

This has been in the works for awhile, maybe unknown to the general public. the airport is growing this is probably the first of many new buildings.

Is this supposed to come off as a bad thing?

“Bend Municipal Airport is the third busiest airport in Oregon with more than 140,000 annual takeoffs and landings.” This surprised me!

It’s a very busy airport for flight training, charters, and privately owned aircraft. Don’t know who’s gonna staff it though since they can’t even keep RDM staffed.
