Western Caribbean How does Curaçao compare to St. Thomas as far as safety? (Pickpocketing, break-ins, shootings/murders towards tourists etc.)

I’m from st Thomas pickpocketing never heard of it happening here , break ins rarely , shootings mostly gang related, murders towards tourist not likely to be honest idk if I ever heard of a tourist being killed on purpose now I know accidents has happened car accident they crossing roads getting hit but they don’t die. Could you be robbed yes like anywhere else will your car be broken into very low on the likely list to be honest use common sense like you would anywhere and you will be fine. Be respectful say the proper greeting of the day if they say even if they don’t and you will be fine. But overall it’s very safe tho we have the highest murder rate per capita in the USA it’s mostly drug/gang related and they know who they going for and maybe wrong place wrong time but you bring the target very unlikely unless you do something you probably shouldn’t.

Curaçao has a low crime rate from what I know, but mostly petty theft & car break-ins. Don’t leave anything of value in your car at all & leave the doors unlocked so they don’t break the windows of your rental cars. I’ve honestly not ever felt unsafe in various parts of Curaçao. The iguanas are intimidating thought 😂

Curaçao felt extremely safe and the prices were decent, I imagine St Thomas is much pricier

Spent two full years in St Thomas. No crimes or issues at all. Just watch your surroundings and be polite.

I love Saint Thomas but prefer St. Martin.
