My neighbor & I are having a flag battle
I've had my pride flag up for years. After the election my neighbor put up a MAGA flag. I countered with adding a Cascadia flag. Neighbor countered with adding an American flag. 😆
FYI, my neighbors and I all get along. 😉

Moss-on-the-roof tells me they don’t respect themselves, which ultimately keeps them in a constant state of self-loathing thus can’t love or respect others.
Keep your roof clean people, lest you slide down the slippery slope to fascism.

It depends on where OP lives. In some places, moss is constant and inevitable.

Sure. We take care of it regularly (multiple times a year), but because of all the large trees around our house, it is almost always present to some degree anyway.
I also dont believe moss is damaging to a metal roof, which this clearly is.

I live in the PNW, where even my vehicle grows moss if I don't clean it regularly. However, this house has never cleaned their roof because it's a rental owned by a slumlord. When the owner dies, this house & the other 5 houses on that corner he owns will be torn down & most likely replaced with a row of townhouses.

It’s a lot more moss than one should allow though, it will eat thru the roofing shingles.

In the PNW, it isn't a reflection on someone's character in the same way a Trump flag is. It usually means an elderly person who can't get up on the roof and whose meager social security doesn't allow for hiring someone.
I'm not defending the Trump flag. Just pointing out that criticizing the moss is irrelevant.

Not disagreeing. I live in the PNW, though, so just a worry. The pro 45/47 flag though, pfffft, they can suck it for that!

Bro, don’t bring roof moss into this. I know it fucks your shit up, I’ll be damned if it ain’t quaint af. Big PNW energy.

Put the American flag up too. Don’t let them claim it. Edit: realized the sub 😅

😆 That's not a bad suggestion, as the MAGA movement shouldn't define the country....but these days, it unfortunately kinda does considering who's in the White House. 😮💨 Plus, I haven't felt particularly patriotic for the last two decades.

Ya know, flag code states that you should burn it after it touches dirt and that one touched shit. Soooo…. ;)

I too am flying a Cascadia and Pride flag! Yay Portland!
Except... None of my neighbors are flying a Trump flag, so I have nobody to compete with but myself!

Then you win! 😆

Yay!!! though I suppose there COULD be neighborhood competition with the amount of pride flags I have hanging... I definitely don't have the MOST with only one.

Do you know them or talk to them ever? Or, avoid each other? Just curious

We're not "friends" but we're quite friendly. We wave when we see each other, will stand out in the yard and talk or even text every once in a blue moon if we have something to say. About the same as I am with all my immediate neighbors.

Oh, or a string of flags from different countries...like little United Nations prayer flags! 😆

Your neighbor seems like they don't do a lot of critical thinking or self reflection.

I have our US flag on a pole, but it’s upside down. I also have a Canadian flag and one for the Seattle Sounders which flies on match days.

I think a pride flag AND an American flag should be side by side. OWN that shit!

Slightly unrelated but it sucks how the pride flag is somehow seen as political. It shouldn’t be controversial but for some reason it makes a lot of people really upset.
