That's the most hilarious cat scolding I've ever heard. He's so worked up..lol
57
u/Allyhart Nov 02 '22
He got more dickish about it the closer he got lol
4
u/jollycanoli Apr 17 '23
Well he probably heard he laughing and had to add "this is no laughing matter" to his "punctuality is the politeness of Kings" sermon

Homie's meows are staccato notes
22
4
u/Noir_Amnesiac Nov 02 '22
Staccato full auto.
7
u/satirebunny Nov 02 '22
Oh, I was referring to musical notes but I know nothing about guns so I'll take your word for it

My cats meow for attention, and when I stand up, they lead me to their food bowl... which has food in it, which they start eating. It's like they want me to stand there and watch them eat.
71
u/BrigittaBanana Nov 02 '22
100% true. I feel like it must be some evolutionary trait because they are vulnerable when eating and drinking
38
u/shimmeringseadream Nov 02 '22
Dogs stare unnervingly at their humans while pooping if they can. My cats drink more water when I stand there and watch them and talk soothingly. They need a lookout while they let their guards down.
27
u/adustbininshaftsbury Nov 02 '22
And dogs always look slightly sad when they're staring at you while ripping ass
4
u/dr_crispin Nov 02 '22
Should T-pose while beyblading next time, just to assert your dominance even further.
3
u/Star90s Nov 14 '22
Not mine he loves to have people witness him pooping. He does a very jubilant after pooping dance as well. The whole pooping experience for him reminds me of a little kid doing a “look what I can do!” Moment.

u/adustbininshaftsbury Nov 14 '22
Lol, my cat sprints around the house and screams before using the litterbox. I think domestic pets tend to have very strange rituals for dropping a duke.
36
u/AltoNag Nov 02 '22
One of my cats did this, she'd yell at me until I followed her to her bowl to watch her eat. She did it all the time, she loved getting someone to watch her eat.
32
u/zombie_penguin42 Nov 02 '22
My parents cat does that because he wants to be pet while he eats.
21
u/MattieShoes Nov 02 '22
My cats actively avoid being petted while eating.
They're both on my desk right now, one on each side of the keyboard :-)
13
u/Competitive-Fan1708 Nov 02 '22
They could have food anxiety. Mine gets like that sometimes and I have a bowl of food on my nightstand for her.
5
u/MattieShoes Nov 02 '22
I don't think so -- they have food out all day, they share a bowl without issue, and they're both pretty skinny. I think they just want attention, but when I get up to follow them, they feel like they have to lead me somewhere. Very occasionally, it'll be the kitty tree so they can get pets at eye level, or the fireplace if they want me to turn on the fire... The rest of the time, it's their food bowl.
One does get anxious any time I take a shower, and paws at the shower door to try to rescue me :-)

u/EightPieceBox Nov 02 '22
We all at at the food bowl like a proper family, Mattie. No taking dinner to your room or tv trays at the couch.
1
u/Sin-cera Nov 02 '22
Eating is a social activity for cats, if he’s leading you to the food, he really does want you to stand there and protect him while he eats. You’re a part of his pride.
1
u/Fluffy_History Nov 02 '22
Apparently they can get nervous eating against walls. So they probably want you to watch their backs while theyre vulnerable
7
u/milkymoocowmoo Nov 02 '22
Cats don't do <thing> because they need it, they just want to know that they could.

This is seriously hilarious, I have never heard a cat meow like this! Also, your snort was delightful.

Oh my god, what a cutie! He sounds like one of those little yappy fake dogs they sell in toy stores 🤣

u/Deep_Future4966 Nov 02 '22
This looks so much like my little pal Loki… he passed away very unexpectedly in September and this really hit me in the heart. I love the chatter!
3
u/joreyesl Nov 02 '22
Mine does this. He escapes out of the house and ends up getting locked out. Then I get an earful of how dare I not leave the door wide open to come in when he pleases.
3
u/shimmeringseadream Nov 02 '22
This cat is the most precious of friends! You should definitely give extra pets and treats after a greeting like that!
