We have just been notified that Defib the cat will be allowed to live out the rest of his days at his ambulance station home!!!

The final straw came on Thursday when Mr Cameron caught Larry cat-napping on his chair in his No.10 study as another mouse scurried across the room. When he tried to wake Larry to do his duty one eye opened but the moggy wouldn't budge.
Am not defending the cunt or that but if you walked in and seen your prime mouse hunter sleeping while a mouse runs around you'd be annoyed lol, poor cat was just tired and wanted a sleep!

This is amazing news! I'm in Australia and actually happen to have a friend that's moved over there who works at that station. She's been sending me Defib content her entire stay and when she told me the other day I was devo. So happy the decision for overturned 💜
She's not up, but can confirm he's a sweet old man. He is patient when the Ambos are pulling in then walks over to greet 😭 if he wants something he finds the nearest person and just yells at them until they do it lol. My friend is a massive cat lover, funnily enough I'm actually minding her cats this week while her parents are overseas too, and Defib camps out on her lap all the time 🥰
My university had Security Cat. He was found outside a hall of residence as a kitten and the security supervisor just never got around to calling the RSPCA. He lived in the security hut for around 20 years. In his last year or so he started going blind and couldn't get to his usual perches. He was having issues with diarrhoea, and some of the security guys tried to have him evicted. Just a heads up you may want a plan for Defib's old age if his health starts failing, especially if he's usually around moving vehicles.
I was thinking more if his sight goes he may need a smaller, enclosed area to live in. Which could mean putting in cat-proof gates or moving into someone's home.
This made me smile and I actually want to cry. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this. This is the first time a petition I signed actually worked! Yay for Defib! He deserves this and more! Feels great to be a part of something so big. I’m all the way from Singapore so this definitely was international! On Reddit at least.
Wow! I was looking for something good to finish my day with and this was definitely it. So happy for Defib. I agree with the top comment that I’m happily surprised the petition worked — glad I’m not yet too jaded to sign them. 🧡
I hadn't seen this story, I'm so sad that a 16yo cat was going to be kicked out! Poor guy probably hasn't got all that long left as it is, I'm so glad they let him stay in the only place he knows as home!
It's heartwarming to know over 60,000 people signed this. And to imagine how many more people there must be who also were in favor of Defib staying but just didn't sign the petition.
Lots of people out there who care about this elderly cat. A tiny sliver of my faith in humanity is restored.
