This is Kevin Bacon. He's the official greater and house cat at my vets. He loves all animals and only squeaks.

My cat has to possibly go back later this week for some more tests :( I'll see if I can get any more pics of Big Kev

Please ask them to add more to Arianna’s bio. She was the CliniCat™ for 17 years, they must know more about her to make a nice meowmorial for her.

u/Satinsbestfriend Jul 27 '22
I can answer some, I've been using this clinic since 2003 so I'm very familiar with Arianna. She was a siamese, maybe not pure bred though. Gorgeous blue eyes, super soft first. Very small. The sweetest thing, I never saw her hiss or growl once. She was always at the front desk, greeting people and being affectionate. Very outgoing.

Thank you!
My Ricki was adopted by my vet and his staff. She is their CliniCat™ and the Practice Meownager (🤣) and they love her fiercely, just like I do. She’s featured on their website and has been lucky enough to be on TV a few times when the local station has visited to do stories about pets.

Best of luck to your cat!

u/Satinsbestfriend Jul 27 '22
Thanks. She had a UTI and they saw some tiny crystals in her urine so once she's done her meds she needs another urinalysis

He likes to randomly bite at your hand, then go back to purring and wanting pets. He's not orange enough to have only one brain cell so, may even he's just odd

u/Short_Praline6842 Jul 27 '22
Mine does this sometimes. He's overwhelmed and confused by being so loved and happy I think. He looks embarrassed immediately after and then comes back for even more head rubs. Mine is orange, but I think this is more to do with being a cat that was abandoned.

u/narfnarf123 Jul 28 '22
My orange that was abandoned or lost does this too. He immediately licks me right after. He is the sweetest boy ever.

u/MilchMensch Jul 27 '22
He looks so sad and tired :(
Please cuddle him ASAP

u/Satinsbestfriend Jul 27 '22
He's not! He had just finished getting a brushing from a vet assistant. He just looks like that for some reason

u/MilchMensch Jul 27 '22
Nice, he does look very soft and cared for. Its the small beady eyes though, I love him.
I couldnt ever stop petting this cat if i was around him, he would totally own me.

u/Hamburgo Jul 27 '22
He has the same type of eyes my cat Mouse has, like a heavy eyebrow that makes eyes appear smaller and sadder. When he actually opens his eyes up properly they are a normal size but he always gets called “sad cat” by others thinking he’s perpetually sad :( he’s a happy boy, just a heavy brow.

I got my cat about two weeks ago from a shelter. He was so quiet and sweet there when I first met him. He was the same at home for about a week until he got comfortable and now he doesn’t stop squeaking. He squeaks when you pet him, when you walk past him, sometimes even when you look at him. Here I was thinking I was going to take home this quiet adult cat, but he’s basically a kitten now that he’s home and comfortable 🥰

u/ryeguymft Jul 27 '22
same exact experience with my guy! he started squeaking his butt off once he got comfortable here 😂

u/cyncicalqueen Jul 27 '22
I love squeaky Mr. Bacon. I am very jealous of you, and the pettings you can provide him!!

I also am caretaker of an ambassador cat. She is here to represent all that is good about cats. Her name is Rainbow and she will be deeply hurt if you do not return her greeting.

We have one at the clinic named RJ. He has one eye and is a b*tch. We all adore him 😂.

Hey my cat only squeaks and he's 8, I never understood why. The answer from the vet was just because. But does anyone know the actual reasoning behind it? He may have meowed once out of fear.
2
u/Short_Praline6842 Jul 27 '22
I read that squeaks are kittenish, so the squeakers are playful or want some extra love and care like a kitten. Mine is a squeaker and uses it to ask to be picked up and held like a baby. Other times, he quacks. I haven't worked that one out yet.
2
u/busydoinnothin Jul 27 '22
My dude can't go beyond a squeak, sometimes he opens his mouth and it's almost like a clicking sound. I assumed his vocal chords just didn't develop Idk I'm not a catologist.
2
u/Short_Praline6842 Jul 27 '22
A catologist, lol. I'd love to retrain and be a catologist, the job satisfaction would be amazing!

Good ol' cat bed/tree next to a window. Did that with mine and he spends all day there, watching birds and neighbors.

I had the grey/blue version of Kevin. Sinclair. He squeaked too.
2
u/Satinsbestfriend Jul 28 '22
I had a Grey tabby named Satin who only squeaked
1
u/Puzzleheaded-Gas1710 Jul 28 '22
Sinclair was a perfect mix of Siamese and Russian Blue. He was a very weird little dude.

u/LulaValentine Jul 27 '22
Omg what a sweet boy. I’ve had a few bobtails and they’re too cute for words. He looks like such a sweetheart. I want to hear his squeak! 🥰

KEVIN HAS HIS OWN BIO!! I found it on the vets page. Very bottom of the page : https://highlandspethospital.ca/lethbridge-alberta-veterinarians/
