I hope Canada is in the 'and more'!
35
u/Talzael 3d ago
I think we're included in usa A bit like when you're abroad, people ask you where ur from, u say canada and they go " ohh u from america" and u have to answer with a "yesnt"
33
u/Doomroar 3d ago
Lets hope that doesn't becomes foreshadowing given recent events

u/Background-Bad141 3d ago
Yeah man I rather not have to own a gun.

u/PoweringYourWallet 2d ago
whats not to love about guns
4
u/Background-Bad141 2d ago
They kill people
1
u/Maniacal-C 19h ago
Guns alone don't kill people: people do. It's a matter of who's behind the firearm. Law-abiding citizens or criminals. There was a song I listened to called "Grandaddy's gun," and it says "a gun's like a woman, son, it's all how you hold her." And you don't have to agree with what I just said, but as a Canadian gun owner and hunter, it resonates with me. Saying a gun alone kills people just makes you come across as uninformed, no offense. However, some guns can have defects, such as the Sig P320, where if you drop it at a certain angle, a round can accidentally fire, which is a safety hazard.

u/PoweringYourWallet 2d ago
Depends on the gun owner
4
u/xdthepotato 2d ago
that sounds like america alright but theyre trusting the not so good people to not buy guns
0
u/QualityProof 2d ago
Guns only use are for killing.
2
u/PoweringYourWallet 2d ago
it has uses beyond just killing
0
u/QualityProof 2d ago
Example? And self derense doesn't count as that's just the threat of killing.

That is simply not true. Yes, you can use them for that purpose, if you're a criminal, or simply someone legally defending their family when the cops are too far away and lives are on the line. However, people compete in the Olympics and other events to become more skilled and to win competitions. Hell, people even have massive range-days in the YouTube scene to simply have fun with people they care about and support. Picture it like a family gathering, so-to-speak.

Don't joke about our sovereignty. We are not taking this as a joke.

I apologize, I've deleted my comment.
I often cope with despair with comedy and it seems to have offended everyone. That's my fault.EDIT: grammar

Why does France get special treatment bruh
166
u/ttrw38 3d ago
France has its own "manga" culture (called Bande Dessinée), so its only natural that Japanese Manga are popular here too, 2nd manga market after Japan actually, strong ties between editors allows this kind of earlier release I guess.

u/MonoChrome16 Fujimoto give us the 4 horsemen sisters SOL moments please 😩 3d ago
Don't forget about gaming industry too. Zelda, Mario, Nintendo related always get special contents in french.
When it comes to art, Japan and France are bestie.
19
u/Malapika2002 3d ago
Bande Dessinée is other comic book stuff, usually French ones, but we call manga manga in France. I agree with everything else though, we’re obsessed with manga/anime culture and even try to make our own mangas

That's not true, in Latin America executives from both countries (Mexico and Japan) got in contact to buy the cheaper cartoons (in comparison to Disney) way way back in the 60's. French had nothing to do with it.

Bandai directly offered Imevision the right to stream Saint Seiya for free in exchange for toy ads. The French involvement is limited to the scripts used for the dub during the first Season. That's it. After that they used English scripts. But they did not "introduce" anything.
24
u/Vounrtsch 3d ago
Because we read more manga than any other country except for Japan. We just built different fr fr
8
u/TheOriginalDog 3d ago
France is BIG in comics. They are treaded as serious culture there, similar to Japan. Thats the reason why they read more manga than any other country outside Japan. A niche manga often has higher chance of getting translated to french than English.

france strong 💪 (jk)
edit: i put jk in order to indicate that that's a joke, an obvious one. Why the hell this shi get downvoted?

What does France have worked out that it’s the first non Asian nation to get the release and a whole week before the other larger “western” markets?

u/Vounrtsch 3d ago
We love Japan and Japan loves us. (For real, manga is HUGE in france, for example, when the CSM anime first aired there were posters for it ALL OVER paris it was crazy)
11
u/Hanusu-kei 3d ago
France and Japan’s cultural exchange was such a success since the 19th Century, that it continues to flourish for any japan media, therefore, it is very lucrative to appeal to the French consumers. Where else did Japan got the “Ooo french maids” thing.

u/TheOriginalDog 3d ago
Plus france has a huge general comic culture. They are treated equal as novels.

Bruh just realized my mandatory military service starts in July and I probably can't go on the first airing in October :(
Surely they air it for like more than a week.

Is this the earliest a major anime movie released on worldwide?. Normally it's pretty late.
1
u/CordobezEverdeen 3d ago
Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King got a same day release. Though I think there were early screenings in Japan.
3
u/Spicyboio 3d ago
29 of October in the UK, let's go. I'm glad I don't have to wait too long.
2
u/General-Pound6215 3d ago
Now to remember to check all the cinema websites every week to see when tickets go on sale.
The recent Attack on Titan movie got announced months before its release but tickets only went on sale a couple of weeks before the actual release date

I hope Russia is in that "...and more". They did put Look Back in theaters here during the WW release, I think.

u/Junior-Buy-1875 3d ago
Hopefully Russia is in this "...and more". Anime films, surprisingly, are ones of the few foreign films that are legally showed in cinema here. We even got Look back premier before US
2
u/Similar-Mountain-942 3d ago
And people where losing their shit talking about a world release half a year later, how old are you? In what year that was normal? I don't really watch anime but Look Back and AOT The Last Attack only took a two or three months to get to the rest of the world.

u/County_Difficult 3d ago
I wonder how long till they'll stream it on Netflix, crunchy roll, etc.
Don't get me wrong I'll be there on day 1 (realistically day 2, a Saturday) but I want to be able to watch it comfortably at home and pause at those immaculate frames and Sakugas that we are gonna see with those beautiful animators.

I see India. But I will remain sceptical. We never get anything good here.
3
u/jjjj__jj 3d ago
Umm every major anime movie comes to India at least in the metropolitan cities.

u/Tannika_Art 2d ago
Idk. We didn't get AOT or Look Back. Can confirm I'm in a metropolitan city. 😞
2
u/CraftMysterious1498 2d ago
Not sure about AOT but I can confirm Look Back did come to India i know this because i went to watch it.
1
u/Blurry_Art885 3d ago
Ummm. Uh. Can this even air in Malaysia? Like I read the manga, the sheer amount of bare ass I've seen during that arc is... phenomenal, to say the least.
Edit: Unless it's censored, but then it just won't be the same lmao

Depending on rotation and redeployment i might be either watching it on my phone in a dugout or on a big screen in theater, if it even officially releases in Ukraine in the first place
