EPPP Practice Test Recommendations

Hi all! I have been studying using solely psychprep for the past 3 months. I have completed test A (2 retakes, 84% and 89%), B study mode 54%, retake 1 71%, retake 2 95%), and most recently C (study mode, 66%). I scheduled the in-person SEPPP at the end of April.

I'd like to do more practice tests over the next month to help practice my test-taking strategies. I'm on a tight budget, so looking for recommendations for what has worked for others (e.g., Dr. David, prepjet) just for practice exams, or if I should just stick with psychprep. I am working with a consultant as well for my scores.

I feel like this process is dragging on and would like to write in the next month or so, so recommendations how to prioritize my time are also welcomed. I have finished reviewing all the chapters on psychprep and took notes.

TIA!

I also have some practice tests if you'd like to DM!

Just passed the EPPP this past week. It's such a relief.

Thanks! It's a serious slog, but you'll get there!

Do you mind sharing to me? I'm in the thick of it and I only have the current AATBS ones

I have a bunch of practice tests that have been handed down over the years that I’d be happy to send you. Shoot me a PM.

I found Dr. David's EPPP exams to be the closest representation of the EPPP today. If you're looking for updated material with solid explanations I'd give them a look. I used them for additional practice when I ran out of exams with another program and it gave me the confidence to finally sit for (and pass!) the exam.

Did you do PsychPrep's test D and E? Just curious how they compared with Dr. David's

I took it last month and passed. Someone from here shared their old aatbs material with me and then I used the prep jet tests and quizzes the week before. I felt their tests were actually much harder and much more fact specific than the real test. The real test would combine multiple “sections” into one question and ask for a best answer. There was a lot of predicting. There were not many questions on straight facts or definitions. And there were multiple questions about psych supervisor rules that surprised me. Have you taken the online practice Eppp from the official site? Other than practice tests, Here’s what helped me tremendously the day of:

1) do a 2-3 pass method. The first time you go through the test, if you don’t know where are the question is really long, flag it, and go to the next one. Then, come back and go through again.

2) take breaks and walk around every 45 min

3) try to point out/mark off the answer options that are wrong and why.

4) tell yourself: “I’m doing better than I think I am “ 5) ask yourself “what is it actually asking me?” And find the keywords given as clues

Prepjet worked fine for me. I just read all the modules and did the first three tests. Took a couple days. They have a free trial, so check that out. That's how they got me.

I recommend prepjet. I did almost all studying through that platform and found the practice tests to be very similar to the real thing, passed with a wide margin on the first go. I would be cautious in interpreting results to practice test retakes because at that point you’re probably remembering the material from study mode and just learning those test questions more than getting a sense of your true knowledge of the material - I never retook the same practice test twice, though I did review material relevant to incorrect answers which was helpful.
