Sidebar Tribute: Mark Levin and His Book, "Ameritopia: The Unmaking of America"

This week's tribute is dedicated to the book, Ameritopa: The Unmaking of America by Dr. Mark R. Levin. I didn't want to select a singular person for the tribute, but rather something that influenced the way I thought about conservative philosophy. However, the left couldn't help themselves. Instead of quoting the book, I took a excerpt from a deranged liberal's article quoting Dr. Levin.

If you haven't read the book, please read this article. This article showcases what happens when the left's frail grasp at reality is challenged, and how easily they are broken. The Chronicle sells the book on how great it is and why you should read it better than I ever could.

Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless.

That was my first Levin book too! Great, if depressing, read.

Sadly, the stakes of these appointments have become so high because of how unmoored the Judiciary has become from the Constitution. The left has turned to the activist courts to ram through large swaths of their policy objectives that they could never pass through the legislative process. Any shift in the balance of power, threatens their "accomplishments." Therefore, these hearings have become a politicized circus. Notice how the leftists prattle on incessantly about precedent, and never about the Constitution or the rule of law. Precedent is their departure from the Constitution they've managed to enshrine into case law. If the courts actually stuck to the Constitution and rule of law, there wouldn't be the need for such madness in these hearings. The stakes are so high because the courts have usurped power they were never delegated. They have become an oligarchy, a Politburo with final and ultimate power.

I don't think Mark has a doctorate, he's an attorney by trade and he worked in the Reagan White House under Ed meese.

You should hear the stories he tells about how the Iran Contra affair was handled, he tells a story about how the prosecutors had all the documents he needed for mounting a legal defense locked up and would not allow copies to be removed. Mark had to hand write all the notes about the documents he needed because of some procedural shenanigans that the prosecutors put in place to hindered Reagan's people from mounting a proper defense.

I've read all of his books except the first one "Men in Black" which makes the point about how the courts have begun to wield power they were never intended to have, something we now see playing out with activist judges thinking they have the power to check the President, and scotus inventing new unenumerated rights.

To reference the use of doctor, he has a J.D., which comes with the title of Doctor. It’s not entirely popular, but it does.

Yeah, I try not to call JDs by the title of Doctor. SJDs are the true equivalent in the field.

"I'd vote for a can of orange juice over Obama"

This is very telling because orange juice is so acidic. I wouldn't want to drink it from a can.

As I side note, I really dig how this guy begins his book review by attacking Levin's appearance.
