News CEO Accused of Attacking, Threatening to Kill Man on Cruise

To clarify, the CEO isn't related to the cruise company or anything:
A finance CEO was feeling less than zen at sea. Kenneth DeGiorgio, the CEO of First American Financial ...
To summarise, his wife told some guy ("M.A.") to put his shoes back on, MA declined and swore at her. DeGiorgio then fought and threatened MA. Security was called. DeGiorgio got charged with assault.

He didn't just swear at her, he said "Shut up, you fucking bitch.” The attacker over-reacted but the victim is also an asshole.

Getting your feelings hurt does not justify physical violence.

I like it when being a douch canoe in public comes with consequences. I want to be clear though that I'm not defending what she did - a lot rides on how she asked him, and why.

Except she decided to correct someone that was not her child and it was non of her business that he had his shoes off. She should have talk to ship staff and let them handle it.

Hygiene is a thing.

Which would be best handled by cruise staff. They are literally everywhere so someone with authority couldve handled it.

TBH, I would pay extra for a cruise that includes CEOs assaulting each other, that’d be good money spent.

I thought it meant the CEO of Virgin so elderly Richard Branson trying to choke someone out on a virgin voyages ship lmao

this is why the ceos wife should have engaged with cruise staff instead of the barefoot dancing fool. I cant imagine why this went south when she thought she was the cruise ship police?

Well she first off should have minded her own business and talk to ship staff regarding the bare feet.
And IMHO, she should have walked away when he flipper her off and name called and the husband acted foolish, The guy had not laid a hand on your wife, you could have words with him if you really think it was necessary but alcohol fueled people you probably should just walk away... Being flipped off and called a FU**** B**tch is a normal day driving in large towns.. I would think to myself grow up.

I have danced at that exact bar barefooted. Lie what the actual fuck is even her problem. It’s a goddamn cruise ship.

Good Lord, was that article even written by an English speaker, or is this some weird translation? People change genders and we have stuff like "allegedly choked a threatened to kill a fellow cruise passenger.".

Most likely it was written by crappy AI. That seems to be the norm these days

According to her linkedin she is a salon owner and the name is Riot and Maehem… seems appropriate and the spelling is hers not mine

The three of them (the Karen wife and two assholes) sound like they all deserve each other. Too bad the first asshole's wife didn't get involved by pulling off Karen's weave. Then the story would be complete.

Biggest question I have is why does someone who makes 7 figures a year go on virgin?
At least do a luxury cruise.

Same reason why a supposed billionaire is eating McDonald's and KFC.

Craving a burger and traveling style is different.
If i fine dine often I’d definitely occasionally crave a burger. I’ll never crave to fly in economy if I can afford business or choose to stay in motel 6 instead of four seasons.

There are Rock Star suites on VV that cost as much as a luxury cruise, or more. This man and his wife were “rock stars” on this voyage.

Evidently Mr. CEO and his wife haven't seen the movie "27 Dresses." If they had, they would have known to sit back and enjoy someone dancing on a bar.

I certainly don't condone the CEO's actions, but it sounds like the victim FAFO'd.

He told Karen to fuck off. That does not warrant being choked out...

Saying "shut up, you fucking bitch" to a woman, in front of her husband, even if warranted, probably isn't going to end well. I'm not saying he needed to listen to her, but he'd of been better off just ignoring her.

u/n1cenurse 1d ago
She would have been better off not trying to tell someone that's not affecting her, whatsoever, how to run their lives. But here we are. I'm confused why she was so pressed that he was dancing with no shoes on? Like wtaf?

It says he came across the room, "Hearing M.A.’s response, Kenneth was seen on surveillance footage crossing the room to confront him. He allegedly grabbed him by the throat and threw him to the floor." so it was not in front of her.. He could have told the guy to F Off, or just got his wife and walked away. People with to much alcohol are not a good thing to confront.

It says that he heard him tell her to "STFU you stupid bitch". Drunk or not, that's usually not going to elicit a favorable response. 🤷🏻♂️

I’m kind of with the CEO on this one

The CEO went too far but the barefoot dancer could have been less cruel to Mrs. CEO.

How you gonna get mad on a cruise that has all-you-can-eat ice cream at a place called "Lick Me til Ice Cream"?
