That's pretty damn impressive (not sure if the personality she has or the facial memory is the more impressive part, but impressive it is all the same), thank you for telling me that. Does she allow any physical contact, petting or just swirling around your hands or something? And she sounds absolutely adorable!

Morays are incredible too, worth a solid read on them. For starters - they're known for interspecies cooperation for hunts, and are able to remember and and recognise "their" humans after years of not seeing them at all. Also they do cuddle to them, in their own, eely way.

Adorable wiggly gal :)

From what you described in previous comm, it feels like a very intelligent/aware behaviour - she trusts you, she also understands what you're going to do, she thinks whether she wants it or not, and if yes, she cooperates.

That's absolutely amazing.

My eel gets a bit spooked if a hand is above her but if i sorta... glide my hand towards her in welcome, she notices it and sometimes i can lift her out of the water entirely (by an inch at the belly so she can slither and flop) though i try not to bother her like that too much. Not too cuddly, but definitely cooperative to some degree 😂
