Condense this Are the main characters atheists?

Are the main characters atheists?

Now, the parents are shown to be religious but there’s some things that indicate that the teens are possibly not.

  1. They have premarital sex. Not necessarily a sign someone is non religious but it is considered a big no-no to many Christians.

  2. At one point Eric says “I’ll check that in with the guy who wrote The Bible.” It’s sarcastic but it implies he thinks The Bible is just a book that some guy wrote and not the word of God.

  3. At one point Fez says that a friend of Kelso’s doesn’t exist and Kelso responds with “that’s cuz he’s dead now!” This implies that Kelso does not believe in the afterlife.

  4. Hyde’s iconic quote about religion. He says that he respects various beliefs but finds that organized religion has corrupted them to justify atrocities, so chooses not to attend church for that reason.

Maybe I’m reaching here but I always felt like this was what the show was indicating.

Are these characters atheists?

Now, the parents are religious, but there's some things that indicate the teens aren't

  1. They have premarital sex - not unique to the nonreligious, but something most Christians frown upon
  2. Eric says "I'll check that in with the guy who wrote the bible". While sarcastic, it implies he thinks the bible was written by men rather than God
  3. Fex says that a friend of Kelso doesn't exist and Kelso replies "that's cuz he's dead now", implying a lack of belief in the afterlife.
  4. Hyde, iconically, says while he respects beliefs, he doesn't attend church because he believes organized religion has morally corrupted them.

Maybe it's a reach, but I feel like this is what the show intended.
