Hot take : Iron Fist seasons 1 & 2 destroy Jessica Jones seasons 2 & 3. Not even close

Been seeing some much deserved love for iron fist on this defenders sub as of late and I couldn't be happier. Didn't realize many people felt the same way as me. Please understand I find Jessica Jones season one to be a masterpeice along with the likes of daredevil, so don't take this as me hating on Jessica Jones. The recent release of born again has got me binging the old defenders shows as I'm sure a lot of you have been doing as well, after rewatching everything in order, I can't believe how bad the last two seasons of Jessica Jones are compared to how much I LOVED both seasons of iron fist. Despite the budget limitations and the lack of a second fist, which I hate too. Please anyone who disagrees watch both shows and tell me I'm wrong. I'm sure a lot of you will say I am anyways. Would love to know what you guys think.

About the Punisher special

I’m a little bummed out this will be only an hour or so long special / short film. I was hoping for at least a mini series, like 6 or so episodes at 40 min - 1 hour long each. There’s only so much you can do in 1 hour alone. I’m sure it will be cool, but what kind of story can you really tell in 1 hour with an already established character that will be worth the wait?

Punisher Gore Level

So I watched Daredevil and the Defenders. I decided to watch the Punisher as well since he was my favorite aspect of Daredevil season 2. I am really enjoying this show and it's kept me on the edge of my seat. But the gore isn't as bad as I've heard. The first episode was the only one that made me squirm but imo the rest hasn't been bad so far. I've watched most of season 1 and none of season 2 so obviously I got some ways to go lol. But I was wondering if the gore level increases or if it stays the same.

Daredevils no killing rule Spoiler

Just watched season 1 again and was suprised when Matt fought and then killed Nobu, I get that it was sort of self defense but still. I feel like that was a major slip up in the writing since he didn't even seem concerned that he actually killed someone nor was it ever brought up in a major way. Nobu did come back so he didn't die but Matt had no way of knowing. I had totally forgotten about that scene so it caught me off guard

What are the chances of getting a modern Daredevil game?

Daredevil has had a resurgence in popularity, being brought to the fore-front of the MCU. His skills and setting seem prime for a more moody Insomniac Spider-Man style game set in Hell's Kitchen. It might be a longshot but we managed to get an Avengers and a Guardians game, as well as Wolverine and Blade on the way. Do you think the Man Without Fear has a chance at getting his own big budget game? Maybe throw in Punisher, Bullseye, Kingpin, Elektra, or even some side missions with Luke Cage, Danny Rand, or Jessica Jones? Perhaps Spider-Man 1 style DLC storylines?

Some comic fans might hate this, but Charlie Cox is voice acting in a major role for an upcoming RPG called "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33". He seems to love the roll already, so maybe they could even get him to act in the game. My one major gripe is that he has dark hair like the Netflix show. Comic Matt Murdock reminds me of Barry Allen and I hate the red hair.

DD: BA Episode 7 - Spoiler

Do we think Muse’ll be back? With the MCU magic these days, he could be a resurrected corpse and take his comic appearance and powers and such? It’d make sense that a dead body would emit nothing for Daredevil to read, or pain doesn’t affect him, etc.

Not saying S1 is a waste of his character, but he was cool in the scenes he was in and I’d like more of him

I liked both seasons of Iron Fist. It was actually one of my favorite Netflix Marvel shows. There, I said it!

I actually liked it more than Luke Cage or Punisher. Sorry, not sorry. It was better that the second season of Jessica Jones also.

I know Marvel's schtick with the Netflix shows was going dark because they couldn't in their movies, which were supposed to appease the all-ages crowd, but I liked the dopiness of Danny Rand. I liked that the show wasn't relentless agony and blood. I like that he was a baby Iron Fist who wasn't at the top of his game. I think the first season plot in particular is one of the best Marvel has done, and I love that the main conflicts in the show were personal: Ward's resentment of Danny and his father's manipulation, and Davos being pissed that Danny took on the Iron Fist and failed in his duty. Ward's transformation into an ally was awesome. There's something really nice about plots that are mostly driven by character conflict and not evil for the sake of evil.

People who crap on the Iron Fist don't seem to care that Luke Cage suffered from a first season that was packed with too many storylines that didn't all connect together.

They don't seem to care that Marvel pretty much dropped the entire premise of Daredevil being a lawyer by day. (I liked the show and would put it near the top, but count the number of times Matt actually practiced law.)

And The Punisher is just a dreary show about a murder hobo. Don't tell me that's the premise because it doesn't redeem it.

Not everything needs to be tightly choreographed 15-minute fight scenes. The only real beef I had with Iron Fist is that they included the nurse character, who added nothing to the other shows, and made her a main.

Daredevil S2 vs Defenders S1

End of DD S2, we see Elektra in the regeneration chamber with the Hand. Then in Defenders S1 E3, Alexandra is told "we've finally found it" and they unwrap Elektra's corpse and put it in the regeneration chamber.

Am I missing something or was the writing just janky?

Was Daredevil always as brutal as he is in Born Again?

Why did he decide to go back to fighting and that too, to a such a violent extent, over some bank robber?

Frank and Luke

It occurred to me recently that Frank Castle and Luke Cage were in the Marines at the same time and potentially could have met. Not only were both Marines who joined in 1997, both were Force Recon. With only one division on the east coast, it’s further possible that both were assigned to the same company, given that there are only 4 Force Recon companies. I’m still holding out hope that the rest of the Defenderverse gets its day in the sun, and it would be neat for them to explore this. Even if they didn’t meet in service, it could be a way to explore the different ways service affects people.

Do I really HAVE to watch defenders for daredevil season 3?

I just finished DD season 2 and am in love with it in every way. Then I start season 3 and am completely confused by the opening. I looked up what I missed and a lot of people said “you have to watch defenders and all the other Netflix marvel shows” and others saying the opposite. Daredevil is really only the Netflix marvel show I have any interest in but if I absolutely have to watch defenders to get the most out of DD season 3, I will. Is it completely needed?

Even though the plot wasn’t the best the chemistry between all the Defenders was just AMAZING🔥 seeing them all team up for the first time here gave me goosebumps ngl. Similar to how I felt when I first saw all the Avengers team up for the first time.

Iron Fist is better than the other shows, even Daredevil

Choreography aside, Danny is the best character that can do no wrong and he is the immortal Iron Fist, so that makes him the best Defender by default anyway

Deal with it….or…April Fools
