π© Scams Was I just scammed out of $90 with AI art?
UPDATE : I THINK IT'S SAFE TO SAY I WAS SCAMMED! I asked about it over a week ago and they never replied.
I ordered 2 pieces from this person for $90 and I recieved the first today and the art looks NOTHING like their examples and I am VERY disappointed with it and it looks very AI generated. My friend said it looked like it was....
Was I scammed? I was being polite when they showed me this and I said I liked it and they are working on my second one....idk....
I attached what I ordered....their art examples and...what I got...
I couldn't help but think my character looks so souless..

and.....WHAT I GOT....

π© Scams A weird text about buying my Art
I got this weird text that's asking to buy some of my art as NFTs. Tho this freaked me out. This was through something called chat under request. He doesn't watch me and I haven't seen him on like or through deviant. Wanna know why? He only has one picture on his page which is just someone holding a big pretty canvas with something on it. I didn't text him back. What should I do? I'm concerned. I dont sell art.

π© Scams DA scammer alert! SandraKathy
Also known as Sandrakathy443, Sandrakathy776, Ana Hulea, stacygt539, Kathy, Kate, Sandrakate, Emily Kate and probably more...
Bot/scammer/fraud.
They will ask you for a commission of their son's dog Bailey (black Groenendael) on a beach. When asked about artstyle they'll say "your style", when asked about different background they'll say "anyone". Will offer 200$ and apologize for such a low price. If you propose more like 300$ they'll agree if 200$ they'll say "no". They will ask for WhatsApp, telegram or discord. They will ask for your email and give you an email if you ask for theirs. They approached me on dA.
They copy paste their messages and will block you at some point on all accounts you messaged them on before either after you say you sent them the money or when the bot won't be sure how to respond anymore or gets called out.
I checked multiple times on different accounts.

π© Scams I haven't done any commissions yet, but somebody reached to me on DA today
I draw cartoon characters by the way. Is $200 for a commission like this really low? It feels quite high to me. Also, how should I get the payment? Before or after the submission? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I haven't done any commissions before.

π© Scams Wow another NFT scam. Seriously? Are people still falling for this?
I was on DA a long time ago and loved it, but life happened and I completely forgot that it existed. Last year, I went back to post my art. That I made. Wish paintbrushes. Actually in my hand. (Just wanted to clarify on the 'my art' part). I love genAI, it's fun, DreamUp is great. But, Now I get messages like this all the time. This NFT shit has gotten out.of control. Ugh!

π© Scams Public service announcement for anyone getting messages about copyright content
I have been seeing lots of people making posts asking if a message they got about copyright claims is a scam.
I can you in advance that if your deviation is still up, it is a scam. I once got a message about copyrighted material I uploaded and I was not given the chance to remove it, the deviation was already pulled and I got hit with a strike that as far as I can tell wonβt go away, with a warning that three strikes means the indefinite deactivation of my account.
If you donβt see a message that says this, then the message you get about copyright material is a scam.

π© Scams I think I found a possible scam
I just dealt with a scammer last night and now I think I was contacted by another one, but they're not as transparent as the previous one, nor as pushy. they seemed like a normal person up until image 3.
as you'll see in the images above, the conversation started out normal - just a person asking if I do commissions and then asking if I'd take a request, which I'm more than happy doing. but then when I ask for references or details on what they want, they get kind of vague - "a picture of a boy similar to your pfp" "same features, white outfit no changes to jewelry" "black background"
the last couple of messages from them on the third image make it seem like they basically want my original artwork but without the watermark (I turned on watermark, creative commons license, turned off commercial use, modifications, and downloads).
I looked over the Known Scams post here in the subreddit, but this doesn't really fit the ones in that post. the closest might be Scam #7 (the NFT).
I'm not 100% certain they're a scammer, but I am pretty sure because I went to their profile, saw they had one image and after a reverse image search, found that it was an abstract painting by Steve Johnson.
* note: I'm new to the subreddit so let me know if I have the right flare, and if I need to block out the names / icons on the images

I recently got this message and I was wondering what aaroko is? I looked it up but I don't see much on it. I don't want to click the link and get god knows what installed on my computer. Thanks

Not sure if its important but this user has only one deviation and its AI.. do with that information what you will. If it is a scam, watch out for kingsleyweah on DA!

π© Scams Serial Art Thief
Beware of the following accounts:
They have created more than 10 accounts in the last month for the sole purpose of posting stolen artwork, taking credit for it, and begging for attention/core membership.
I learned about them from a journal here
They reposted a commission and took credit for it, and when the original artist asked them to take it down, they blocked her but kept the stolen art up. Just searching the name "Olivia Ordan" allowed me to find a bunch of their previous accounts, all with the same problem of posting stolen art and immediately bailing when enough people caught on.
Unfortunately, Deviantart will probably do nothing about this, but I can at least spread the information about this loser until they hopefully give up and do something better with their time.
Someone tracked down some of their stuff but there's a ton they didn't find.

They seem to be trying to lure people into purchasing commissions from them by posting other people's work as "proof" of their skill. More than likely, they will take the money and run to another account.
