It's a pain in the ass. My wife and I had something like that. Way too hard and heavy. So in the end, you just leave it as is. After a day of work for both of us, and taking care of our child, what do you wanna do? You puzzle around your sofa pieces. No you don't!

I mean, I think that’s the use case. I doubt anyone would want to change it multiple times a day.
They’re just showing off the many configurations you can set it up in, and it provides a lot of flexibility for the customer.
Most people will just set it how they like; then maybe change things up every few weeks or months.
It’s not for me, personally, though.

I get the advertisment. There's so many Layouts of couches in all forms and colours and sizes. Just get the one that you like and fits your living space. Then you don't need to puzzle at all, is all!

Lol, i was just going to say if you are over a certain age that shit will remain in one configuration only and then there is plenty of better alternatives.

It’s interesting you mention age because it plays a big part in furniture choice. The IKEA demographic is all young people. By their 30’s people buy real furniture and after 40’s people like to buy custom bespoke furniture.

You might want to consider yourself lucky if you are getting “custom bespoke” furniture over 40.

i think the meme on reddit has become that if you're old you're rich because you're old

In my 20s i would be fully on board to shuffle around furniture for parties or just generally having people over, in fact i did. Im almost 50 now and the very idea of folding/moving furniture fills me with dread.

We had one in college. Not very comfortable or practical. Affectionately called the "flip'n'fuck" as that was the only situation that changed it's layout.

Surprised none of them thought of stacking then to have it 4-layers high and make it a throne

I mean... its supposed to be a lounging couch still. Not a nightly bed lol

And you have to be as young as the people in this advertisement in order to find this comfortable.

Cool things like this wouldn't work if you are tall (193 cm), my legs will stick out

I see only one value for the sofa.
In trying to figure out the best combination for various sex positions

The idea is cool until you found what config suits you and never changing it again.

Not something I would want but I do like the idea of furniture being more modular

That doesn’t look like it would be nearly as functional, comfortable, or durable as the video implies it is. I’m all for creative designs but it seems that the phrase “jack of all trades, master of none” would apply here.

Ah yes, compact funuture for people that can't afford big enough homes because of the housing market.

Can you utilize it in this way? Yes. Will you? Probably not after the first few months.

Doubt it's comfortable for long, but the kids version is a great toy (nugget couch.)

don’t like that when you fold it you’re sitting on the part that was previously touching the ground

Let’s be real here. It looks great, and with many variations would be very adaptive. But, once the cat(s) got on it, it would be theirs, and we’d be back on the floor. 😸😻

Looks like something you find in the house of really annoying people who try to get you to use it while they sit on an actual sofa.

It's either uncomfortable as hell or not supportive when used as an actual sofa.
