We saw these two ducks in a canal near Amsterdam. Are they just mallards with weird markings? We saw a white duck the night before, so maybe it's a feral Pekin and these are related. Any ideas?

This is the first of 4 and my very first time hatching. I just wanted to share. 😁 The way it's snuggling with the other eggs is so cute.

She’s alive and will get up and walk if I open the door. But then will immediately sit back down once I go away. I don’t see a male anywhere. I haven’t seen a duck rest like this so I wanted to make sure she’s okay?

They started showing up a few days ago so I have been tossing out extra sunflower hearts for them. They've been back 3 days in a row and today she waited at the door until I delivered the goods lol
So we got our duck eggs from Metzer farms and they do have a section on humidity they suggest for the last three days for hatching. 81 RH And Meyer hatchery also suggests something similar. 80-82% RH
Between them saying such a high number and online saying 60-75% RH I’m confused on which one to follow and looking for advice on what others have used with their eggs.
Right now they’ve been 57-58% RH per metzers website and currently day 22. Day 20 when I candled there was movement still in all 9 eggs. I just don’t want to do anything super drastic and ruin that good number.

Today, I was traumatized by something I saw near the river. I was out walking and enjoying the nice weather when I noticed three mallards in the water. One male mallard was on top of a female, and I assumed they were mating. Suddenly, another male attacked the one who was mating. The first male got off the female, and that's when I noticed she wasn't moving—she was dead.
To my horror, the first male then started pecking at her and tried to mount her again. After a while, both males left, but not before the second one attacked the first.
I'm deeply confused and disturbed. Did the female die during the mating? Or did the male realize she was dead and still try to mate with her afterward? Either possibility is incredibly upsetting.

I believe it’s mating season for mallards over here so they are all very active! Love to watch them mess around

I know it’s not the best pic, I can supply another if needed, but is anyone able to identify what kind of duck this is?
Located in Miami FL
Freshly hatched duck and this gooey cord is wrapped around its leg and it’s making it hard for the duckling to move around. From another angle it looks like it’s wrapped around twice. I looked online and didn’t find many other experiences with this. Will this resolve itself?
I have hatched quail and we have a small flock of ducks but this is our first duck egg hatch in an incubator and I’m worried it’s going to mess up her leg to where she permanently has a hard time walking.

I watch the stream DuckvilleUSA on twitch a lot and they have 2 ducks that are mixes, babies from a pekin and a muscovy. They are so chonky and beautiful i love them! Both are males but they are mules so they never go after the ladies, they just start chirping a lot if they get annoyed by other ducks. Some times they argue and they bob their heads up and down while chirping with open beaks. I have heard one of them honk or quack one time but they mostly just chirp like ducklings. Their waddles are different too! Definitely recommend going to see them, they are the most popular ducks there so there's lots of clips of their shenanigans! I hope you enjoy!
