Lost & Found We have found her.
Hello everyone!! About a week ago I posted about my missing cat, Tilly. We have found her!!! She is home and safe!! Our neighbors cat guided her to the park and he proceeded to take us to her, sitting at our feet and making sure she was safe. Thank you so much to the thousands of people who supported me and my boyfriend through this extremely rough journey. She now has a tracking collar and will be doing desensitizing training to better her anxiety while being outside. 💙

I am glad that your kitty has returned. At the risk of being thought of as cold, I will suggest that you learn to keep your cat indoors. Cats are safer indoors from any number of ill fortunes that could befall them. Keep her close.

she is an indoor cat?? my mother took her and dumped her outside out of spite for me. she has and always will be an indoor cat. our way of desensitizing is to ensure she is comfortable around our house and capable of understanding her surroundings. she has a harness and leash along with a cat backpack. i promise you she is safe. she is spayed, microchipped, and her shots are done. i assure you she is the most spoiled kitty ever.

I can't stand it when other people - people you trust - think they know more about cats than you.
I used to live in a house near Skinner Butte park with a bunch of roommates, I came home from work early one day to find the front door wide open, everyone just hanging out. My two indoor cats absolutely nowhere to be found - they didn't even at least put them in my room and shut the door.
These cats had never been let outside in the 10+ years I'd had them at the time. I started flipping out on my roommate, whose defense was "cats belong outside".
I was beside myself, calling all over the neighborhood for them. The youngest one was found an hour later, terrified hiding in a bush. The older one I wasn't able to find until well after it was dark. She must've encountered another cat because she had a gigantic bloody gash in her side that I had to tend to myself over the coming weeks because I couldn't afford to take her to the vet.
All because my hippy-dippy roommate didn't want to just open some fucking windows.

Good for you and her! My 2 cats might have your’s beat on being spoiled, though.

For what it's worth, my last cat managed to get out twice even as an indoor cat - he made it home both times, but I can understand the panic when your indoor cat gets outdoors and you're just left worried.

the big issue with this all is that she is my medical alert animal, trained to help manage my psychosis and ptsd. her loss was immensely heartbreaking, she has never been outside, and has severe issues herself with anxious habits. She hid for days without eating or drinking any water, which dropped her down weight wise immensely; along with being attacked by our neighbors cats consistently the whole time. she came back to us starved, skinny, missing pieces of fur, and bb gun wounds against her ribs and stomach. we were panicked because she is a loved, intensely important member of our family.

That's probably one of the greatest moments you can get in life, the pure joy and relief after grief. Cherish it! Congratulations!
